“Are you trying to tell me how to do the job I trainedyouto do?” Xavier asked, a little salty.

“I’m just being thorough. You know, since you’re a little preoccupied by Bambi.”

Xavier didn’t want to admit Gabe was right—even though Gabe was right. He groaned and shoved his fingers through his hair.

“Fine. Let’s go over Remy’s statement one more time then take a break. I’ll get him to approve it when they’re back and Asher can start posting it on Remy’s socials. We need this everywhere before people can speculate any further.”

Gabriel agreed, and thirty minutes later they were finishing up when he heard the ding that meant the front gates were opening. He logged off with a promise that he’d have Asher call. It wasn’t in Asher’s job description, but Asher’s job description was “whatever Xavier needed,” so it wasn’t much of a stretch, either.

He walked outside as the limo came to a stop and the rear door opened. Remy stepped out, his hair freshly trimmed, sunglasses on, and a wide grin on his face as he laughed at something—presumably whatever Finn had just said inside the limo. He stepped out of the way as Finn slid out and gave Xavier a nervous smile.

Xavier’s brain froze and for a moment, he could only stare.

His boy was gorgeous.

Finn’s hair had been trimmed as well, short and neat on the sides but left long enough on top to allow his natural curl to show. It had been styled back from his face, and his dark-lashed eyes were even more striking than usual when they weren’t half obscured.

It took a moment longer for Xavier to realize he was wearing new clothes. His gray shirt was perfectly sized, the sleeves pushed up—one showing off his slender forearm, the other out of the way of the cast—and his dark jeans fit so well that Xavier could almost believe they’d been tailored for him. Remy hadn’t stopped there. Finn had on a thin leather necklace and several matching bracelets as well as black leather shoes.

“I think he’s speechless, pet,” Remy said with a laugh as he sauntered past.

Xavier dragged his gaze back to Finn’s.

Finn rubbed his palm against his thigh and shifted his weight. “Is it okay? I told Remy it was too much…”

Xavier cut him off by closing the distance between them and crashing his mouth down on Finn’s, swallowing his surprised gasp. His hands went to grope the boy’s ass, squeezing the perfect globes.

Finn whimpered and melted into him, his hand sliding into Xavier’s hair and holding him close.

Xavier let his hands roam as he deepened the kiss, getting a taste of Finn’s sweet mouth before he backed off again.

“You look incredible, sweetheart,” he said, cupping Finn’s cheek. “I have no words.”

Finn broke into a wide smile that lit up his whole face. “Yeah?” he asked, stroking his hand over Xavier’s bicep.

“There’s a party tonight at one of my client’s houses—nothing too over the top. I have to go for work, and Remy needs to go and be seen. Would you like to be my date?”

Finn’s smile turned a little nervous, but he nodded. “I’d like that a lot.” His tongue wet his lower lip. “I won’t be in the way?”

Sweet boy. He was going to break Xavier’s heart one of these days.

“You absolutely won’t. I would love nothing more than to have you with me.” He smiled ruefully. “You should have seen me today. Gabriel yelled at me twice for being distracted. I missed you so much I couldn’t focus.”

Finn’s eyes went wide and his cheeks pink. Then he leaned up to kiss Xavier’s cheek.

“I missed you too, Daddy.”

Xavier held back every possessive instinct in his body that said to throw Finn over his shoulder, march him to the bedroom, and spend the next twelve hours taking him apart. Instead he kissed him again, long and sweet, then took his hand to lead him inside.

While they’d been talking, the driver had delivered the bags from the shopping spree into the foyer. Remy was standing in the middle of the mess, scratching his head and looking a little bewildered.

Finn stopped. “I told you not to buy so much,” he said, eyeing Remy with some frustration.

Remy looked up. “What? No. I was just thinking that we bought more than this.” He scooped up the majority of the bags and headed for the stairs. “I got a text from Ash that my statement is ready to go up on social media. I looked it over and I approve. Post the damn thing so we can get past this.”

Finn hurried to grab the remainder of the bags. “When is the party?”

“Not until nine. We have plenty of time.”
