“I’m sorry, I thought you would’ve heard me when I climbed through the window and knocked things over. Think I’m too big to be coming through that window,” he says, rubbing my foot between his icy palms.
“It’s okay. The pain’s wearing off a little now. I was in my head, clearly too distracted to hear anything.”
His hands retreat from my foot and he nods in understanding. He glances around the room and a crease forms between his brows.
“How come it’s so bare in here?”
I shrug, nibbling on my lower lip as I glance around the room too. From an outsider’s perspective, it looks bare and unlived in.
My bed is in the centre of the room with the headboard against the wall and bedside cabinets on both sides, each with a lamp. Opposite my bed is my wardrobe and a mirror with my small dresser. My desk is in the corner of the room, over by the door to the bathroom.
Every surface in the room is empty, apart from a couple of make-up items on the dresser.
“I mainly spend time in Callum’s or Connor’s room. I don’t really like being in here alone, so my stuff is in their rooms… I used to have pictures on the wall. Some of me and the twins. A few with my mum as well. I think I even had one of me and Crystal from the day she was born.” I trail off as I look around at the bare walls, a wave of sadness washing over me.
“How come you took them down?”
I shake my head before answering him, “I didn’t take them down. Cameron did. He came in here sometime after Mum had left and took every single picture. He burnt them all in the garden and ended up having a massive fight with Connor because of it.”
“Oh, Callie. I’m sorry, baby.” He sits beside me on the bed and pulls me into him, brushing his fingers through my brown locks.
“It’s okay. I’ve gotten over it now. Callum managed to salvage a few of the pictures whilst the fight was breaking out, so we still have some.”
He presses a firm kiss to my forehead and draws back, his eyes connecting with mine.
“You’re all so strong, each of you have had to deal with so much over these past few years and I just wish that we had met sooner. I wish we could’ve helped you sooner.”
I see the sincerity of his words in his hazel eyes and my body melts against him as my gaze drops to his soft, inviting lips.
“I really want to kiss you right now, Brad.”
He seems surprised by my admission but he recovers quickly and brushes the tip of his nose against mine.
I’m not sure who moves first, but within seconds, our lips are crashing together. Sparks ignite, and tingles spread across my skin as his mouth devours mine. He releases a groan when I nip at his bottom lip and his hands move from my hair, dropping down to my hips. Warmth spreads through my body and desire courses through my veins.
His tongue swipes against mine and a pleasure-induced shiver runs down my spine.
“This. Is. So. Sexy,” he growls between kisses, tugging on my nightgown to indicate what he’s referencing.
“Mmm, it’s a little tight, in all honesty,” I mutter, as his lips trail the length of my neck. Licking. Sucking.
His fingers dig into my hips as he lifts me, placing me in his lap.
The hard ridge of his cock digs into my leg, and a gasp escapes me when he guides my hips forward, rubbing my sensitive clit against his thigh.
“Take it off. Please, Callie,” he begs, his hot breath coasting across the swell of my chest as he continues peppering wet kisses against my skin.
I unhook my arms from around his neck and reach down for the hem of my nightgown.
He unlatches his lips from my collarbone, breathing heavily as he stares into my eyes, waiting for me to lift the garment from my body.
His fingers skim against my thighs and my skin erupts with goosebumps.
“If you’re not ready-” I shake my head, cutting off his words.
“I want this.”
I slowly lift my arms, drawing the pink cotton away from the lower half of my body.
