The spark vanished as quickly as it appeared. Left in its place was a rueful smirk of cruelty and ownership.

“You don’t hate me, Ava. But you do fear me and that’s entirely different.” He brushed her lips with his while a tiny smile curled at the corners of his beautiful mouth. “I’ll use that fear until you crave me as much as I crave you. Should I take you right here? Right now?”

“You won’t.” Ava’s voice quavered, betraying her conviction.

Kingston laughed. “Try me.”

She pushed at his chest again with balled-up fists. “Empty threats.”

What are you doing, Ava? You are deliberately taunting him. Do you want this man to tear you apart?

“You think so?” Kingston’s fingers tightened around the column of her throat. His eyes narrowed.

“Yes,” she squeaked out. “And… if you want the truth, it’s losing the desired effect.”

ChapterFour

Iwatched you change

Into something wild and untamed.

That’s it.She’d officially gone insane in this house of madness.

She was poking the beast. But she was insanely desperate for an end to this limbo of agonizing waiting. Desperate for his teeth to rip her apart so it would all be over that much sooner. Like ripping off a band-aid, the pain would hopefully be fleeting.

“Hmmm.”

That’s all Kingston said.“Hmmm.”As though she were nothing more than a science project revealing unexpected results following a tragic experiment.

“You continuously threaten me with it.” Annoyance crept into Ava’s tone even as she shifted closer like a timid mouse desperate for shelter.

Oh, God. I’m pathetic.

“Then by all means, Miss Blue. I’ll happily oblige your need for a good fuck.”

Ava swallowed hard. “Here? But someone might come…”

With one hand still wrapped around her throat, Kingston nonchalantly pulled his phone from his suit pocket. He pressed a button and opened the call in speaker mode. A familiar voice answered from the other end of the line.

“Yes, Mister Winter?”

“Jack, no matter what you hear or how loudly Miss Blue might scream,” Those fingers tightened around Ava’s throat until she could barely swallow, “nor how prettily she begs for God or someone to come to her aid, no one enters this room. Is that understood?”

There was a second of silence before Jack responded—crisp and matter-of-fact. “Very much so.”

There would be no assistance coming from Kingston’s righthand man. No rescue from this self-inflicted danger she had thrown herself into. That much was clear.

“No one, Jack. I’ve no need for an audience while Miss Blue is initiated into her new reality.”

Another pause, this one far more pregnant with understanding before Jack responded. “Understood, sir.”

Ava’s skin flamed hot with embarrassment. Anyone lingering outside the game room’s doors would hear every response to Kingston’sinitiation. She would not have the strength to contain her moans. Nor her cries. It wouldn’t take a stretch of the imagination to guess the activities underway inside the locked room.

Kingston ended the call and pressed a few more buttons, all while his dark blue eyes traced Ava’s features. He slid the phone back into his trouser pocket. “The cameras in this room have been disabled. Now, will you voluntarily remove your clothes? Or would you rather I tear them off?” His fingers loosened from around her throat.

Ava remained quiet, fear abruptly seizing her tongue and rendering her incapable of speech.

“There’s my answer,” Kingston murmured, reaching for the top of her blouse with the intent of ripping the delicate fabric.
