“You must be Sabrina,” Devin says from behind me. “Booker has told me all about you.”
“He was just leaving,” I say to Sabrina, and she tries to hide her grin. It’s sweet how shy she gets, and fuck, I want to know if she tastes sweet too.
“See you tomorrow,” Devin calls out, and then I hear him get in his truck before the engine roars to life.
“You got a coat?” I ask her, and she shakes her head.
“I thought I brought it with me, but I was almost here before I realized I forgot it. I’ll be fine once we get inside.” She shivers right after she says this, but I’m already shrugging off my coat.
“You can wear mine,” I tell her as I move closer.
“No, that’s okay. You’ll get cold.” She shakes her head, but I’m already draping it around her shoulders.
I have other coats. In fact, there’s one right inside the door. But for some reason, I want her to have this one. It’s already warmed up, and it smells like me. There’s something about seeing her in my clothes that I like. A lot.
“Come on now, put your arms through,” I tell her as I hold the front of the jacket, and she easily slips her arms inside. The coat is so much bigger on her, but I like it.
Her eyes meet mine, and I realize how close we are. I’m still holding on to the front of the coat, and if I wanted to, I could pull her against me and do the things I’ve been dying to do since the first time I saw her.
“It feels good,” she says softly, and I imagine her saying those same words while I slide my cock inside her.
“You like it?” My voice is husky because I’m picturing her on her back with her legs spread while I sink deeper and deeper.
She nods, and that little tongue of hers darts out to lick her lips. She’s practically begging me to kiss her.
The sound of Devin’s horn blowing as he pulls out of the driveway breaks the spell, and she takes a step back. I have to drop my hold on the coat and curse that asshole for ruining the moment.
“Let me show you the barn,” I say, and she seems to brighten up.
“I’m excited to see it. Do you keep animals in it or is this just an event space?”
We walk side by side across the snowy field to the big barn next to the house. It’s one of several, but this is the nicest of all of them and the one Mary Beth wants to use.
“I usually keep a couple of horses in it, but right now we’ve got several little ones that need to be watched over. This barn is close so I can come out here at night if one of the ranch hands can’t stay.”
“Little ones?” She looks at me curiously.
We get to the barn, and I reach for the side door. There is a set of bigger doors that open to the main area, but it’s cold out, and I don’t want to let the chill in.
“Our last shipment of cattle came from a farm that was closing down. I didn’t want to leave anything behind,” I tell her as we go inside and I show her over to one of the stalls.
“Oh my gosh, baby goats!” She squeals with delight as the two little baby goats come running over, eager to see if someone has a bottle for them.
“I’ve got a rancher coming by later and staying out here with them tonight. But I thought you might want to feed them?” Judging by her initial reaction, I think she will want to, but if she doesn’t want to get dirty, I can do it on my own.
“Are you serious?” Her eyes light up like I’ve told her I’m Santa Claus. “Of course I want to feed them.”
There are a few bottles already warmed up, so I grab them and show her how to do it. The baby goats are wiggly, and she laughs as she tries to hold one and feed it while I take the other. Sabrina coos at the little goat like it’s her own baby, and I like watching how happy it makes her.
“You are such a good eater,” she tells the little girl goat as she scratches behind her ear. “What’s her name?”
I shrug. “I run a cattle farm for beef.” I give her a pointed look. “We don’t name the animals.”
“Oh.” Her expression changes, and she looks at me with worried eyes. “You aren’t going to eat these babies, are you?”
The bark of laughter that leaves me is unexpected, but I shake my head. “No, there’s another farm nearby that keeps goats. They sell their milk and cheeses. I’m going to see if they want them once they’re weaned.”
“I don’t know how you could let them go. They are so cute,” she says, and the little goat she’s feeding is closing her eyes like she’s sleepy.
