He’s the King of Envy for a reason, and he needs to feel included. He thrives off the praise, and being a part of the movement that saved the females is too much for him to pass up.

I lick my lips and turn to Charlie as Levia waves over a few shadows.

“Get us some drinks,” he orders.

He can’t handle being the odd man out, and his desperation not only to be included but also to be a key component makes him especially susceptible to our plan. At least, I hope it does.

“Come here,” I say to Charlie.

She stands and walks around the table. She takes the long way to avoid Levia and Shay, a smart move, and I push back my chair to make room for her to sit on my lap.

“We’ve got a meeting set up with the shifters tomorrow, and I anticipate they’ll be more than happy to help,” Aziel says, grumbling as he pretends to struggle to get the zipper on his bag.

The snort that emerges from Charlie’s throat is a bit louder than necessary, but it successfully distracts Levia and keeps him from thinking too deeply about what Aziel’s saying. He watches Charlie grab the bag from Aziel and zip it up herself.

Her frantic, uncoordinated human movements are hard to block out.

“Shifters hate you,” Levia says.

The shadows return and place full cups of demon alcohol in front of us. I ignore mine and move Charlie’s out of the way. I doubt she intends to drink it, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. Envy alcohol is strong, and I want her to keep her wits about her.

I chime in. “They like the females more than they hate Aziel.”

Shay bores holes into the side of my head as I wrap my arms around Charlie’s waist. Levia does the same, and Silas clears his throat to draw their attention to him.

I bury my face in the back of Charlie’s neck and let my lust out. She agreed to this plan, but I still feel bad as I allow it to fill the space around us. This might throw her into a frenzy, but I’ll help alleviate the burn should it come to that.

Charlie slouches into me almost immediately, her legs spreading underneath the table as the smell of her arousal seeps through the room. She was so nervous about this part of the plan, and I try to get it over with as quickly as possible as I slip my hand between her thighs and sink two fingers into her.

The table hides the view, but the sound of her wet sex is audible to everybody.

I turn to hide my face from Levia and Shay as I angle my hand so it’ll hurt Charlie if she tries to move. The plan is for her scent to distract everybody, but I’m not trying to give them a show. The best way we could think to prevent her rocking was to cause her just enough pain to overshadow the pleasure.

Charlie flinches as she jerks her hips and meets the sharp end of my thumb.

Levia doesn’t know me well enough to realize how unusual this behavior is for me, and I hope he’s willing to ignore the rumors he’s heard and believe I’m just like any other incubus he’s come across.

They do these things for fun, thriving off attention and lust.

Silas grunts and reaches for Charlie, but Aziel beats him to it and yanks her out of my arms. This is the other thing Charlie was worried about, but Aziel must be the person to hold her. Levia doesn’t respect Silas or me enough to have this discussion without Aziel present, and needing to leave to take care of Charlie is the perfect excuse for Aziel to rush Levia for an answer.

“Fucking incubus,” Aziel mumbles, setting Charlie on his lap.

She winces as he slips his hand between her legs and digs his fingers into the soft flesh of her thigh. She made me promise not to let him touch her intimately, and I listen and ensure he isn’t copping a feel.

Shay meets my eye for a brief moment, her face tight. Her calm expression tells me immediately that she sees through this charade. She knows me too well.

I expect her to call us out on it, but instead, she crosses her arms over her chest and presses her lips together. Typical. Shay works for herself and herself only. Whatever her plan is, it doesn’t include stopping this deal from going through.

“I’m leaving,” Aziel says, standing. He holds Charlie tightly at the waist so she can’t wiggle against him. She still tries, and her unfocused eyes land on me with desperation. Her pupils are fully blown out, and I resist the urge to yank her out of Aziel’s grubby hands.

“We aren’t finished!” Levia snaps, his harsh glare turning to Charlie.

Aziel pushes the damp hair out of her face. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say he seems genuinely concerned as he runs his thumb over her wrinkled forehead, smoothing the skin.

“There’s nothing left to discuss. You aren’t willing to compromise, and I have a female to take care of,” Aziel says. “Silas can stay and speak on my behalf if you wish to discuss more. Gray is coming with me.”

Charlie’s panting slows as she gradually begins to overcome my lust, my strong female slowly learning to block it out. I know she still burns, though, and that pain won’t disappear until I’ve touched her.
