Aziel steps into the room and trails his fingers down my back, starting at the nape of my neck before sliding to the base of my spine. I shiver, his touch causing goosebumps to pebble up along my skin.
“You’re beautiful,” he says.
I laugh. I look like a hot mess right now. My hair is still messy from sleep, and I’m sure there are imprints on my cheek from the seams of my pillow.
Aziel’s body heat warms my back as he traces my healed cuts, barely grazing over one before moving to the next. I can tell they make him uneasy, but he hasn’t voiced any complaints.
“Why haven’t Silas and Gray come yet?” I whisper.
The question’s been heavy on my mind. I know they’re mad, but I thought they’d at least have shown up by now to see Aziel. We’re going on three days here.
I spin in my chair.
Aziel’s face is pinched, and he flicks my hair behind my shoulder so he has a better view of my chest. My eyes narrow, but I don’t say anything as he trails a finger along the top of my leathers.
This is all new to him, and I don’t blame him for being curious. I remember fondling Gray on more than one occasion, eager to learn his body.
“Gray has been checking on me through the bond,” he says. “They’re giving us space.”
I scoff, knowing that’s far from the truth. “They’re givingthemselvesspace. From me.”
“You cheated, Charlie.” Aziel doesn’t bother sugarcoating his words, not that I’d expect him to. “They probably think you had a full-blown relationship with Kato, and I’m sure they’ll feel better after hearing the truth.”
I look down, embarrassed. I fucked up big time, and I’m starting to doubt they’ll ever forgive me. My chest expands as I debate whether or not I should ask.
Aziel won’t lie to me, at least not about this.
“Do you think they’ll ever forgive me?”
Aziel reaches around me and grabs a piece of Ucka meat. He brings it to my lips, and I sigh as I open my mouth and eat. It tastes good, and he does this until the plate is empty.
“I think it will take them a long time to forgive you,” he finally answers.
I refuse to cry.
“What are we doing?” I ask. “What’s this between us?”
Aziel shrugs, his eyebrows furrowing like he doesn’t understand my question.
“You’re my female?”
“If Gray and Silas aren’t willing to forgive me, where does that leave us?” I clarify.
I stare at my knees, hoping to calm my racing heart. As much as I love playing house with Aziel, it won’t last forever. It’s only a matter of time before he’s ready to go home, and I want to know what that means for me.
“You’re my female, and they’re my males,” Aziel says. “That’s not changing. They’ll come around with time.”
I hum, sucking my lips into my mouth. Those words aren’t the most comforting.
“Let’s not talk about this until we have a better idea of what Gray and Silas are thinking,” Aziel continues, his cocky smile returning as he dips his finger into the top of my leathers and pulls it down.
My nipples harden as they’re exposed to the cool air, and Aziel sinks his teeth into his bottom lip and circles them with his thumbs.
“Fuck,” he whispers, spreading my thighs and stepping between them.
“How can you be aroused at a time like this?” I ask, gesturing to his hips.
Aziel shrugs. “I’m a thousand-year-old virgin, Charlie. What do you expect?”
