He sets down the clothing and stands as Charlie continues to struggle, the man eager to help.
“I think it’s time we get you a bigger size,” he says, unrolling the elastic and flattening it against her back.
Charlie stills and levels a glare at the poor incubus as he grins and rubs her belly. Gray only further digs his grave as he comments on how well the shifters fed her. Silas clears his throat, capturing Gray’s attention so he can give a subtle shake of his head.
“Thanks, Gray,” Charlie snaps, her face turning red.
Gray frowns, seemingly sensing she’s upset but unsure what about. He hesitates, debating whether or not to push it, before huffing and returning to her clothing.
How long have these two been awake bickering with one another? I’m usually waking with the slightest noise, and I’m shocked I slept through it for so long. It probably has to do with the two content bonds vibrating gently in my chest. They’re soothing, and I rub my sternum with a soft smile.
Is this how it could have always felt with Gray?
I turn and bring my attention to the sleepy man on my right. Silas still doesn’t wear my mark, saving his first bond for Charlie, and I’m running out of patience. I trail my finger across his neck before pressing into the spot where I intend to claim him.
His black eyes blink open before narrowing, annoyed with my touch. Still, he doesn’t pull away as he drops his head back on my chest. I didn’t take him for a cuddler.
Gray kicked me away in the middle of the night, his bony limbs pushing into my back until I rolled over and gave him space. Charlie did something similar, the woman groaning and wiggling whenever I tried to touch her.
I understand now why they insisted on such a big bed.
“What time is it?” I ask the room, slipping my fingers through Silas’s hair.
Charlie responds, but I’m sleepy and don’t listen to her answer.
Silas is hard against me, but neither of us comments on it.
He doesn’t have a lot of interest in being fucked, and he probably won’t ask for it often. It’s a shame, but I’m much more interested in watching Charlie torment him, anyway. She likes having somebody to boss around, and Silas is more than willing to be that person.
Silas smacks his lips and climbs out of bed, and I resist the urge to grab him as his hard length brushes against my thigh.Mine.
He may not wear my mark, but he is mine just the same.
Last night was good for us, and even though there’s a lot we still need to work through, things are looking better.
My males are more comfortable around Charlie, no longer skirting around the room or subtly moving away whenever she gets too close. Silas even goes out of his way to brush against her as he heads to the bathroom, his hand sliding across the exposed skin of her lower back.
I know they still haven’t completely forgiven her, but it’s a step in the right direction.
“We’re getting the portal set up today,” I say, enjoying how Charlie squeaks.
There’s a pep in her step as she urges us to hurry up and finish dressing. I eye her as I throw on some clothes, grudgingly following her orders.
The portal in her cabin back on the shifter lands was completed two days ago, and they should have one in our manor finished this morning.
I resist the urge to carry Charlie when her shoulder lightly hits the doorframe on her way out of our room. I know it didn’t hurt, but my need to keep her and my baby safe outweighs reason. I’m excited to tell her she’s pregnant.
Silas says we should wait until it’s been a few weeks and the risk of miscarriage drops, but I’m growing impatient.
“You smell nice,” I compliment, sniffing the back of her neck as we walk downstairs.
She swats at me, and I pull away with a quiet laugh.
Gray glances at me out of the corner of his eye, and my laughter grows as I wrap my arm around his shoulder and bury my face in his mop of curly hair.
“You smell nice, too,” I whisper.
“Obviously,” he mutters, pushing me away before jogging to walk next to Charlie.
