Page 130 of Her Males

He’s in one of his moods, and while I usually enjoy his conniving side, it’s not so fun when directed at me.

Aziel smirks and makes eye contact with me as he grabs Silas and pulls him in for a kiss. He stands as he does so, and he curls his fingers into Silas’s thick hair before yanking it like Charlie always did.

I know what he’s doing.

Silas lets it happen, his back stiff as he grabs the sides of his pants and clenches the material. He doesn’t know what to make of Aziel, his logic and emotions in two different places. Aziel’s made it clear we’re his males, and I’m sure he’s having a fun time forcing us to realize it.

Aziel pivots so I can see as he slips his tongue into Silas’s mouth, claiming it as his own before he pulls away with a smirk. He’s looking at me again, silently challenging me to say something about it.

“Are you all right?” he teases, glancing at my hips.

He thinks I’m the weak link, but I refuse to prove him right as I place my hands over my bulge. It’s none of his business whether or not I’m hard.

Charlie clears her throat and stares intently at the paperwork on Aziel’s desk. She’s been holed up in her office the entire day, scouring over forms and old documents from the female transition facilities we put in place years ago.

Aziel smirks as he notices me staring at her.

“Charlie and I will be gone for a few hours,” he says, smoothing Silas’s eyebrow with his thumb.

Silas returns to me, and I cross my arms over my chest as Charlie grabs her things. She struggles to hold all the paperwork, and Aziel quickly swoops in to carry them.

I raise a brow, surprised by his chivalrous behavior, before recoiling when she yanks them out of his arms and holds them to her chest. Oh?

“I can carry my things,” she insists. “Thank you, though.”

Silas and I blink, dumbfounded, as Aziel snatches them back before cupping her chin and forcing her to look into his eyes. I expect her to cry at his rough behavior, but she holds his glare with an equally vicious one of her own.

Charlie’s always been sassy, but this feels different.

“Will you catch us meat for tonight?” Aziel asks.

I have to step back, my mind unable to wrap around what the fuck is happening right now.

Charlie’s the first to break, her lips twitching before spreading into a full-blown smile. Silas looks just as confused as I feel, which is good. These two are being weird.

“You want me to?” Charlie asks.

Aziel nods, grinning. “Yes. I’ll also teach you how to hunt on these lands if you’d like. The animals are bigger, so I don’t want you going alone, but I’m sure one of us will always be happy to accompany you.” He grabs her hips and spins her around.

Charlie bounces on her heels, clearly excited as she turns to Silas and me.

“Do you two want to come with us?” she asks, looking hopeful. “I’d love to show you my cabin and traps.”

Herwhat?

“I’m busy, but I’d like to speak to Charlie before you two leave,” Silas says.

Charlie’s lips twitch, her hope poorly hidden as she nods and turns to me. I clear my throat, debating, before shaking my head. Being around her isn’t good for me, and I need space to think.

Although it would have been nice to be invited from the beginning.

Her visible hurt makes my pulse race, and I rush out of the room before I can change my mind. I don’t know what Silas wants to speak with her about, but I’m sure he’ll fill me in later.
