Icuddle into Carson’s chest, my body humming with pleasure and happiness. If I were a cat, I would be purring right now. Carson is even petting me. His hand drifts up and down my back in gentle strokes.

“We have to do that again.” I sigh. “Once I can move again.” My body is sore but in the sweetest of ways.

“Babe, we can do that any time you want.”

I smile against his chest. I can feel his hard cock between us, ready to go for another round. I thought men needed a few minutes between, but I guess Carson doesn’t. The man really is impressive all around. “Thank you for making my first time feel special.”

“If anyone should be giving thanks, it’s me. You gave me another gift with your trust.”

I peek up at him. He is always saying the right things to me. Carson is too good to be true, but maybe our issues will come later down the line.

I’m trying to remain in my little bliss bubble with Carson, but my mind wanders to reality. A few issues pop into my thoughts. The one at front and center is that we don't even live close to each other. We both have established lives in different places. That’s not a great starting point for a new relationship.

“Beautiful, don’t get into your own head.”

“How do you know what I’m doing inside my head?”

“Because when you start thinking over something, your brows lower and you scrunch your nose.”

I touch my nose to see if I do have a tell. “Do I really?”

“Yeah.” He smirks. The man really does pay attention to everything. Probably why he’s so dang good at what he does.

A chime goes off, reminding me that we still have a job to do. “Crap.” I wiggle to get up.

“Kiss first,” Carson demands. I roll my eyes, pretending that he’s being ridiculous, but kiss him anyway. I only meant it to be a quick kiss, but his fingers slip into my hair, holding me in place so he can deepen it. His tongue sweeps into my mouth. I moan against him about to shift over to straddle him when the chime goes off again.

“We should get that,” I say between kisses. My work ethic diminishes a little every time his mouth meets mine.

“I know.” He groans, pressing one last kiss to my mouth before releasing his hold on me. Someone has to be the responsible one, because I can’t be trusted once Carson gets his mouth on me. I slide off the couch in search of my clothes.

When I stand, I feel Carson’s release spill out of me and down my thighs. I look down to see it. The sight is erotic but also a reminder that we hadn’t used protection. It had never even occurred to me. I’m new at this. What is Carson’s excuse? My stomach turns. Is this normal for him? Has he not used protection with others in the past?

I glance over to see him pulling up his pants. “Shirt,” I say, tossing it over to him. What if the delivery person is a girl? I feel possessive, thinking about someone else seeing him this way. I wiggle into my own pants. “Let me fix this.” I run my fingers through his short, dark hair, trying to manage it. When it's messy, it's too dang sexy. It makes you think of him in ways that I don’t want anyone else fantasizing about.

“Think you need some clothes too, babe.” He gives me a lopsided, playful smile. Does he know that I'm all jelly over him?

“Right.” I snag my sweater off the floor, pulling it on. “I look okay?” Carson tucks a piece of hair behind my ear.

“More than okay.” He bends down, picking up my panties.

“Oh.” I try to grab them from him, but he’s quicker, pulling them back out of my reach. “Hey.”

“Mine now.” As I watch him shove them into his pocket, my mouth drops open.

“You little freak,” I tease.

“I’ll show you how much later.” He winks, causing my cheeks to heat up. I’m not sure if it’s arousal or shyness. I’m sure a hint of both. Beyond the pages of a book, I know nothing about kink.

I run my fingers through my hair as Carson walks over to the elevator gate to unlock it. The doors slide open to reveal a man ina suit holding a bag. He appears a bit dressed up for a delivery, but maybe they do things differently here in New York.

“Lennie, what are you doing here?”

“Heard you were in town. No call?” The man steps off the elevator. His eyes meet mine. “Ah, I see.” If I wasn’t already blushing, I would be now. I shift on my feet.
