Louisa nestled into him, her head against his heart as his strong arms enveloped her in a comforting hug. She closed her eyes, reveling in the steady rhythm of his heartbeat and the delicious soreness between her legs.

"That was quite a first lesson, wasn't it?" he teased, his deep voice rumbling through her.

Louisa giggled, her cheeks flaming. "You could say that, Daddy," she managed, her voice hoarse from moans and cries.

Ben's chuckle reverberated through his chest, and Louisa felt a warmth blossom in her belly. They lay there for a while, their breathing syncing as they gradually returned to normalcy. The room around them was silent but for the soft crackling of the fireplace and the ticking of an antique grandfather clock.

"You did so well, Lulu," he murmured, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead. "Daddy's so proud of you."

Lulu melted into his embrace, a contented sigh escaping her lips as she nuzzled into the crook of his neck. The scent of leather and sandalwood enveloped her, making her feel safe, cherished, and utterly at peace.

Ben's large hand stroked her back as they enjoyed the silence together for a while. Then Ben reached for a thermos on the nearby table. The rich aroma of chocolate filled the air as Ben poured the steaming liquid into a mug, stirring in a fluffy marshmallow that bobbed on the surface.

"Here you go, sweetheart," he said, bringing the mug to her lips. "Spiced hot chocolate with extra marshmallows. I made sure I had this ready for you as a little treat for afterward."

Lulu sipped the sweet, comforting drink, a smile playing at the corners of her mouth. “Thank you, Daddy. I love how much you care for me. I’ve never had anyone treat me like . . . like I’m their number-one priority before.”

She couldn’t tell for sure, but it looked as though tears were forming in Ben’s eyes.

“Lulu,” Ben said softly. “If you’re interested in taking this to the next level, how about we make it official? You’re free to say no, of course, but I want to be your Daddy Dom. I know we won’t be at the ranch forever, and things aren’t exactly straightforward since we’re working together, but how about we test it out over the next few days? And if it goes well, I don’t see any reason why we can’t continue with the dynamic while we’re here.”

“Really?” she asked, her heart thumping in her chest. She was trying not to worry about those last three words:while we’re here.It wasn’t in her nature to relax into the moment, to not think about the past or the future or the implications of any given thing. But right now, it was clear that she’d been given an opportunity. The chance of a lifetime.

“It means I wouldn’t be disciplining or playing with any other Littles. And I’d expect the same from you.”

“I’d . . . love that.”

“Are you sure? You don’t need any time to?—”

She stopped his words with a kiss, and he kissed her back. A full kiss. All-encompassing, possessive, dominant.

It was a kiss that told her that she already knew exactly what the results of this little test were going to be. It was a kiss that told her that no matter how much he gave her, she was going to want more. More, and more, and more.

She just hoped he was ready for that.

Chapter Eight

Lulu

She was his.

And he was hers.

Her Daddy. His Little. But only if they passed the test, and even then, it was only for as long as they were both at the ranch together. “While we’re here.”This was strictly a holiday romance, and Louisa was okay with that.

Wasn’t she?

She blinked her eyes as pale winter sunlight streamed through the lace curtains. Her cozy quilt was pulled up to her chin and Flopsy was hugged close to her. She nuzzled his fuzzy rabbit ears and rubbed her nose on his soft belly.

“I’ve never had a Daddy before, Flopsy. Not even for a day, never mind for a whole Christmas. I’m going to make the most of this time.”

Flopsy didn’t say much, but his presence alone was reassuring. “I’m not going to get caught up in worrying about the future,” Lulu said. “I’m going to enjoy the holidays. And I’m going to enjoy today so much!”

Ben had asked her whether she wanted to have playtime in the ranch Nursery today. She was excited but nervous, too. She didn’t want to make any mistakes or do anything wrong. The word he had used was “test,” and there was no way on earth that she wanted to fail.

“I’m going to be brave,” she said to Flopsy. “And do my best!”

Lulu hopped out of bed with a giggle and twirled to the wardrobe. She selected a red Christmassy dress covered in tiny embroidered snowflakes with a lacy Peter Pan collar. The flowy skirt swished around her knees. Soft white socks and glittery jelly sandals completed the playful look.
