“Wait… what?” he breathed, his voice full of awe.

I nodded, tears spilling down my cheeks. “We’re having another baby.”

Mark let out a breathless laugh and cupped my face in his hands, kissing me deeply. When he pulled back, his eyes shone with love and joy.

“You just made the best day of my life even better,” he whispered, his forehead resting against mine.

I smiled, knowing this was only the beginning.

As the limo pulled away, my hand still clinging to his, I couldn’t stop staring at our new home until it disappeared.

“Mrs. Saunders,” Mark said, his voice low and teasing, “how does it feel to be a married woman?”

Mrs. Saunders.I placed my hand to his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart. “Mr. Saunders, it feels… perfect.”

He pulled me into his arms, holding me close, his breath warm against my ear. “I love you, Essence.”

Tilting my head back, I looked up at him, my heart swelling with love. “I love you too, Mark.”

We had a life full of love, family, and memories ahead of us. And as I leaned into Mark, my husband, I knew that we were ready for it no matter where life took us next.
