His skin is hot against mine as he starts moving, his hips pumping in a rhythm that my body is already addicted to.

The bench groans beneath us in protest, but I don’t care. All I can focus on is how damn good this feels and how right it is for us to be like this together. With each thrust, Parker growls out words of praise for my body and the way it welcomes him so eagerly. When he finally finds release buried deep inside me, he grunts out my name in a low voice that brands my soul.

Chapter 16

Parker

The stars are bright in the sky, and I'm feeling a tug in my chest as Tess's hand fits into mine while I escort her from her house to my truck. Her skin is soft against my calloused fingers, making me think of those silk sheets she introduced me to versus my cotton ones. It’s just one more thing she’s shown me throughout our short time together.

"Where are we headed?" Tess asks, her voice laced with that thrill she gets when I surprise her.

"Somewhere special," I reply, keeping it vague. The corner of her mouth quirks up.

As I turn the key, the engine rumbles to life, and I feel it's a metaphor for what Tess does to me. She revs me up, pushesme past the fences I've built around myself. Love was always a cautious word in my book, something you handle like a skittish foal, gentle and patient. But Tess? She teaches me it can be wild, untamed, and fearless.

And thinking of fearless, my mind drifts to the bedroom – a place where Tess has turned from guide to goddess, showing me pleasures I didn't even know to wish for. I used to think love-making was straightforward, but with Tess, it's like discovering a hidden path where every twist, every turn is a new thrill.

Tonight, I'm taking what she's taught me, and I plan to explore her body.

"Whatever you've got planned, Rowdy," Tess murmurs, leaning closer, her breath a warm tease against my ear, "I'm all in."

"Good," I say, shifting to adjust my rapidly hardening cock.

As we pull away, leaving the small town of Heartville behind us, I realize I’m not scared of risking my heart anymore. With Tess, every day with her is a win.

The truck's engine hums steady as my heartbeat quickens, each mile a step closer to revealing what I've got up my sleeve.

"Are we heading to another planet, cowboy?" She chuckles, making me smirk at her guess.

"Maybe not another planet," I say, "but I reckon it'll feel outta this world."

Tess shifts in her seat, leaning toward the window. "I love a good mystery, but you're killing me, Parker Fields."

"Patience, Pixie, good things come to those who wait," I tease, tapping the steering wheel with my fingers.

The tires crunch on gravel as we veer off the main road, the headlights carving a path through darkness. We're alone out here, just us and the open country.

"Feels different tonight. Does it to you?" Tess asks.

"Tonight's special." My voice drops an octave lower.

"Special how?" Her question is a whisper.

"Guess you'll find out soon enough." I wink at her, keeping one hand on the wheel while the other finds hers, intertwining our fingers.

We drive deeper into the country, where the land opens up. It's just the rattle of the truck and the beat of two hearts ready to collide in the best way. And the further we get from everything familiar, the closer I feel to Tess, to this night, to every possibility that waits on the horizon.

I'm about to show her that cowboys don't just ride into sunsets. We chase after the night too, eager for the wild and unknown. Tonight, I'm all in – heart, body, and soul. I’m so excited to see the look on her face when she sees what I've got planned.

With the truck finally in park at the spot I picked just for tonight, I hop out and rush over to the passenger door to open it and help Tess down. Her short legs make her have to literally jump up into the truck each time she gets in.

“There’s a meteor show that will be happening in just a little while. I’ve got to get us set up to watch it. Okay?” I ask and grab her hand to guide her to the back of the truck.

“Oh, wow! I’ve actually never seen a meteor show in real life before,” Tess admits.

As she’s looking around the dark area only lit from the lamp on the tailgate and my truck lights, I move around the truck, working to set everything up in the back like I had planned. I’ve made sure to park us at the end of the dirt road that I know no one will come down, and where the trees are not as heavy populated so we can get a good viewing of the meteors shooting through the sky.

“Tonight, I’ve planned for an orgasmic meteor show.” Wave my hand in the direction of the back end, showing her that I’ve got a rollout mattress, blankets, and pillows laid out and a picnic basket sitting there on the side.
