I can’t help but turn on the charm with him. It’s what I do. “Mm-hmm.” I smirk. “And if you want, I can let you in on a little secret too. I can tell you the best one.”

His eyes burn into me and I can’t tell if he is interested in me or finding me young and obnoxious. “And what would that be?”

I gesture with my hands for him to come closer and he doesn’t budge. “Well you need to lean in and let me whisper it in your ear. We can’t let everyone know the best thing in the shop.”

He grins at me as he places his muscular forearms on the counter and leans in.

I take an inhale of him; I can’t help myself. I don’t care if he is a few years older than me, he is all man and suddenly all those boys I made out with behind the building pale in comparison to this fine specimen. He smells like soap and sandalwood. A man’s man and I am tempted to lick him. I lean over and see his eyes dart to my chest where my low-cut sweater reveals more than fits the dress code for work. My lips nearly graze his ear as I whisper, “Salted caramel apple.”

He pulls away from me laughing, his head thrown back. I swallow as I gaze at his Adam’s apple, transfixed.

He meets my eyes again as he regains his composure, “And here I thought you were gonna say something entirely different.”

“Like what?” I smirk.

“I’ll leave that up to your imagination.”

“Whatever you say, mister. But just know, my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.”

He stares at me for a few seconds, his face stoic, like maybe I went one step too far. Then we both start laughing at the same time.

“Well I don’t know aboutyourmilkshake, but I’ll take two salted caramel apple ones.”

I deflate a bit when he orders two. He probably has a girlfriend waiting in the car. “Comin’ right up,” I say as I turn around and head to the milkshake machine. I glance back every now and then and see him staring at my ass. At least my charm works on him!

I bring over the milkshakes and ring him up.

“Thanks, my momma said this was the best ice cream in town. She’ll be happy I am bringin’ her back some.”

I perk up when I hear he is getting ice cream for his momma. Hopefully that means he is single and maybe I’ll be seeing him around more.

“Thanks for the suggestion. See ya around.”

I watch as he walks out the door, kicking myself for not getting his name. I slump back into the spinning chair and push myself in a circle as I stare at the ceiling.

“Your milkshake brings all the boys to the yard?” I hear Laney say as she walks back into the main room.

“Well it does,” I giggle.

“You are such a whore.”

“This coming from you,” I joke.

She shakes her head as she props her ass on the counter to face me. “I don’t exploit boys for sexual favors at an ice cream shop.”

“Neither do I,” I answer as I spin. “The boys all come to me.”

“You are gonna get in trouble one of these days.”

I stop spinning and look toward the door where the hot, sexy stranger just left. “I think I just did.”

Chapter Seven

Ryder

By the time we make it back to our rental in Towson it’s almost two in the morning. I am exhausted, mentally. Tacoma was too much. Too much livelihood, too much sexiness, too much honesty. Too much of everything I don’t need in my life. All things that need to be left in the past, left forgotten in the trunks we locked those feelings up in.

I take my jacket and tie off as I watch Shelley strip her dress off in the bathroom. I watch the thin fabric slide over her body, revealing her muscular back and tight ass. Thoughts of Tacoma race through my brain. The way she looked in the cream dress she wore. The way the material clung to her ass, like it was about to rip the seams. Her generous sized breasts nearly spilling out of the top but tucked in perfectly to entice anyone who looked. She is all curves and softness while Shelley is small and bony.
