My savior.

Cupping her cheek gently, I smile with my busted mouth. “There she is.”

Daelyn’s expression softens immediately. “Did you just tell me you’re in love with me, Dmitri?”

Yeah, that’s exactly what I did. I’ve never love-loved awoman in my life, and it’s only because none of them have been Daelyn. The enemy of my enemy is my soul mate. Can you believe that?

My girl leans into me and tenderly traces my swollen face, one curve, one bruise, one cut at a time. “There he is.”

She loves me too.

I grab her by the back of the neck and kiss her with all I’ve got in me.

After a lifetime of fighting, I finally get to claim my prize. My peace. My girl. My heart.

My everything.

Epilogue

Dmitri

Two years later…

I no longer live at the Monarch Club, even though I still work long ass hours there in security. Daelyn and I ended up buying a cute house out in the woods. We’ve got a king-sized bed to fuck in every night, a fully loaded fridge, and a walk-in closet. It always smells like flowers there too, thanks to whatever concoction Daelyn uses in her diffusers. It’s amazing.

Addie’s off to college. My smart little half-sister is officially a physics major. Can you believe that shit? I hooked her up with Sophie last year and Addie secured an internship for the summer with Sophie’s company. That kid is going places. I’m so proud of her.

We have banana pancakes every Sunday morning, and I eat them like they’re my favorite fucking meal. One of these days I’m going to actually like bananas. Don’t kill my hope and say otherwise. The joy of having my little family around a table, laughing and teasing, talking about all kinds of shit, is such a gift. Winter break can’t come soon enough because I want Addie back home. I’m looking forward to spending more time together.

Therapy’s going well for me, too. I see the same person Ryker does, so I trust them and have been able to work through a lot of my demons. Daelyn’s done the same.

“Good morning,” she chirps, joining me out on our private deck. The over-water villa we’ve rented has just about every luxury you can think of. I’m pissed we’re only here for another week, but we both have responsibilities back home to return to.

“There she is,” I say with a cheesy smile.

The blue-green ocean around us has nothing on the color of her eyes. I swear, every time Daelyn looks at me, I fall more madly in love with her.

My girl saunters over, wearing a silk kimono, and straddles me on the lounge chair. She kisses me like I’m what gives her life.

“Are you sore from last night, Firefly?”

“Only in the best of ways.” Her stomach rumbles and she presses her hand to it. “Oh, for fuck’s sake, shut up.”

“I got you, baby.” Snagging a piece of pineapple from the fruit plate I ordered for us, I feed it to her.

“Mmm.” She closes her eyes and chews it. “Man, that’s good.”

While she eats another piece, I slip her kimono off and untie her bikini top. Then the bottoms. She giggles when I feed her another piece of fruit, a kiwi this time, and she bites my finger.

“Fuck, woman.” My hard dick pushes against her. “Don’t play.”

“Oh, I’m playing.” She runs her fingers over some of my scars and bites my bottom lip hard enough to break the skin.

My goddamn eyes cross.

“Bad girl.” I smack her bare ass and grip it tight. “I should punish you for that.”

“You definitely should, King.”
