Page 46 of Battling Aries

I couldn’t agree more. All I wanted to do was get out of here and get to Aries. It was over.

Finally.

We didn’t have to worry about the past any longer.

CHAPTER 28

ARIES

It’s over.

All of it.

Rory is safe, and no one is going to hurt her again.

I climb out of the ring, ready to get the hell out of there. I needed a shower and to fuck my woman. There’s no other way to put it.

Kevlar and Viper were right there waiting for me. Both of them are on either side of me, ready to help me out of there.

“We got you, brother,” Viper remarks, throwing one of my arms over his shoulder, which I’m grateful for.

The first fight with Roger was nothing but a joke. The bastard couldn’t fight worth a damn. His two men, though. They’d been able to do a number, but still, in the end, I won, just not without them giving me some seriously hard blows. I’m sure I’m gonna be hurting for a week. Regardless, it’s not gonna stop me from my plans for victory.

Getting out of the main area of the fights, the noise drifts behind us, a relief to my damn ears. It’s a good thing noise doesn’t normally bother me. It was deafening in there.

“Aries,” Rory cries out my name as she rushes toward me, her arms going around my waist.

“Hey, Scamp,” I tell her, taking my arms from around my brothers’ necks to wrap them around her.

“You won,” she whispers low enough for only me to hear. “It’s over.”

“Yeah, baby, it’s over. We can both move the fuck on now,” I say and kiss the side of her head.

Rory nods and lifts her head. “You need a shower.”

“Yeah.” I grin and dip my head down to kiss the tip of her nose. “And you’re gonna join me.”

“I am, am I?” She cocks a brow.

“Yep. Soon as we get to the clubhouse, you’re helping me shower, then you’re gonna ride my cock while I watch.”She’s going to do more than ride my cock. I plan for her to ride my face while she sucks me off first.

“Come on, you two, let’s get the fuck out of here,” Kevlar says, moving away to Rosemary.

“We’ve got the rest of the night to chill. Tomorrow, we’re meeting with Mateo while he’s in town, so rest up,” Viper states, moving ahead of Rory and me to join Jade.

I don’t even want to know what he could possibly want to meet about. The first shipment was a success. Nothing should have gone wrong with it. I guess I will see come tomorrow.

Removing my arms from around Rory, I take her hand in mine, realizing it’s the hand that had been in a cast. Giving her a grin, I tug her into my side and let her hand go to tuck her in. “Come on, Scamp.”

Together, we walk away from the past. It’s over with, and there’s nothing left for either of us to worry about. The bastard who tore us apart is gone and can’t hurt her ever again.

Outside, I stop long enough to inhale the fresh air, letting it fill my lungs. Once I do, I start walking again, moving toward thebike I’d ridden in. I help Rory on behind me and wait for her to wrap her arms around me. Unlike the last time she sat behind me, I didn’t have to worry about taking it easy to protect her against the bumps. She’s good now, and so was I. It didn’t matter to me the beating I took. The ride will always be the same for me . . . freeing in the only way it can be.

On the road, there’s nothing to worry about, and it’s an experience that Rory will soon learn. Because I’ll never, not in a million years, ever let her go again. I learned the hard way what it’s like without her, and it’s a battle I won’t ever go through again.

We all have our inner battles. But we all have the outer ones as well. It’s up to us all to fight them separately but also to know the battle is best fought with those who have your back and won’t ever judge you for the decisions you make in life.

That’s what a brotherhood is about.
