I squeezed him back and then went to grab beers for both of us. The heaviness of carrying that secret was gone, and pure happiness flowed over me.

I couldn’t wait for Micah to get home.

Chapter 23

MICAH

Ismiled down at my phone as I headed into my building later that night. I’d given them enough time to talk through their shit and for Ray to profusely apologize to my girlfriend. Celebrating tonight’s win at the bar wasn’t as fun without Josie there, but I knew they needed some brother-sister time. However, that time was over.

Stepping into the elevator, I glanced down at my phone again.

Josie: We’re all good. He apologized multiple times and promised not to be weird if I stick my tongue down your throat in front of him.

Josie: Haha. Right. Okay, he apologized, and I’ve accepted, but maybe we don’t make out in front of him. Don’t want to traumatize him or something.

Josie: It’s all good. I swear. We’re having beers and hanging out, so come home when you’re ready.

I fucking loved it when she just called it home and notyour home. There was no way in hell I was letting her sleep anywhere but my bed for the foreseeable future, her brother around or not. Maybe Harper had an extra pair of earplugs I could give Ray.

I tapped on my best friend’s name.

Ray: I apologized to Josie for being a total dick. Are we good? I hate having both of you pissed at me, even if I deserved it. Just want you both to be happy, and you seem to make each other happy. Which is weird as fuck, but I’ll deal.

My smile split my face. No more secrets, and I was so fucking in love with Josie. It was amazing. I strode down the hall to my front door and unlocked the door, stepping into my condo.

“Babe, I’m back. Where’s my welcome-home kiss,” I announced, spotting her on the couch with her brother. A laugh burst out of me when Ray’s nose did a wrinkle of disgust.

Josie giggled and jumped up from the couch, giving her brother a quick shove to his shoulder before she walked over to me.

“You’re asking for it.”

I wiggled my brow. “I’m always asking for it.”

She swatted my chest, and I tugged her into my arms.

“Babe? At least it wasn’t baby. I hate that nickname. Hurricane is my favorite, though.” Her eyes twinkled.

“Mine too. Just tormenting your brother a bit. I did learn from the best.” My hand traveled down her spine.

I chuckled at Ray’s fake gagging noise behind us and didn’t let it deter me for a second.

“Damn right, you did. But maybe don’t grab my ass in front of him. Let’s not torture him too bad,” she said, humor lacing her tone.

“I guess. Now kiss me, Hurricane.”

“With pleasure.” She lifted up on her tiptoes as I swiped my tongue against the seam of her lips, and my arms tightened around her waist. She parted her mouth and kissed me right back.

Slanting my head, I moved my tongue against hers. Tasting her. Savoring her. Fuck. I wanted to carry her into our bedroom and make up for lost time. Three nights without her, especially knowing she was only two floors above me, had sucked, and the few orgasms we’d shared this morning before being rudely interrupted had not been enough, but the chances of us getting in any more with her brother still here were slim.

She moaned softly against my mouth, and I swallowed it down, my chest vibrating with need.

“Okay, guys. I get it. You’re in love. Can you stop trying to eat each other’s faces?” Ray’s voice broke through the lust-filled haze that had taken over my body.

I broke the kiss but kept my lips close to Josie’s. “I’d much rather eat something other than your face.”

Her cheeks were bright pink, her hazel eyes wide and mostly green. “Oh my god, stop it.” Humor laced her tone.

“You’ll be saying that later,” I teased. Who knew it was so enjoyable getting a rise out of her?
