And then he froze above me, his lips slightly open, and he came, his body shuddering over mine.

Pure bliss settled over me as he collapsed on top of me. His lips grazed my shoulder when he tucked his face into the bend at my neck. He kept some of his weight off of me with his arms, but I tugged him down. I wanted him to be as boneless as I was, and I never wanted to move from this spot.

Then I heard banging.

“Fuck, Josie! Like my sister, Josie? You better be doing some sort of tough puzzle or some shit.” Ray’s voice carried through the door, and my body immediately tensed.

“Oh, shit,” I gasped.

“I mean, I guess we are like a puzzle right now,” Micah murmured.

I reared my head back. “Are you for real right now?”

He lifted up, meeting my gaze. At least he looked somewhat mollified at being caught by my freaking brother.

“Dammit, Micah. We were supposed to hear the door,” I whispered.

“You were loud.”

“This is not funny.” I tried to scramble out from under him, but it was like moving a boulder. Damn stupid, muscly hockey players.

No. I was not going to think about how much I enjoyed the muscles.

Shit.

“Why aren’t you freaking out?”

“You wanted to tell him.”

The man shrugged.Shrugged.

“What the fuck is going on in there?” Ray called out.

“Oh my god. Should I climb out of the window?” I shoved at him again. “Maybe bury myself under the covers so he never finds me.”

Micah laughed.

“It’s not funny.”

“Okay, granted. Not the best timing because he definitely ruined the post-coital snuggle I had planned, but it’s going to be fine. We’ll just tell him that we’re a couple, and it’ll be fine.”

I quirked a brow at him. “You are way too calm about this.”

“Because this might not be how I wanted him to find out, but I wanted him to know about us. To know how much you mean to me. I hate lying to him, and I hate hiding how I really feel about you.”

“Micah,” I murmured, my heart threatening to burst.

“Come on. Get some clothes on before he storms in here. Then we’ll go out and give him the good news together. Hopefully, he won’t try to break my hand or something since I have a game tonight.” He tugged me back right when I got out of bed. “Wait, one more kiss.”

“You two have three seconds to get right the fuck out here,” Ray yelled.

Yeah, if a hole in the floor opened up right at that moment, I would’ve been good with that.

Chapter 21

MICAH

Imight’ve acted blasé about all of this, but my gut was churning. I’d just had to risk having her this morning, and now Ray was clearly pissed about finding out like this. Not that I didn’t have the best intentions toward Josie, but there was definitely a better way of breaking the news to him, one that wasn’t me yelling out Josie’s name as I fucked her.
