“Why am I not surprised?” Cassie deadpanned. Then she waved at someone behind me. “There you are. Come sit with us.” I turned, spotting Charlie at the top of the stairs.

Her hair was pulled back in some sort of braid, but wisps of pale blond hair brushed her damp cheeks. My cock stirred and I shifted in my seat.

“Thanks,” Charlie said, sitting down in the seat across from me and swiping a bottle of water from the table. She twisted off the cap and took a long pull. Her throat was mesmerizing. A trail of perspiration ran down to its hollow, and I wanted to lick her.

I stood up abruptly, my knee knocking into the edge of the low table and jostling my open bottle of water that sat on top of it. I caught it right before it tipped and spilled—not that my lap couldn’t do with a dousing of cold water right now.

“Sorry. Gotta take this call,” I lied as I skirted around the table and headed for the stairs.

I needed air.

CHARLIE

“What the hell was that about?” Tristan asked, taking the seat next to me while I tried not to stare at Josh’s retreating form. I was still on edge anytime he was near or put his phone to his ear, waiting to see if someone had found out that we were married.

“Seriously. He’s been extra twitchy tonight,” Bash said.

“Wonder why? Maybe he’s tired of being on a bus with you dirty boys,” Cassie said.

Bash leaned in and nuzzled his girlfriend’s neck, but I didn’t miss hisI’ll show you dirtycomment.

“What did I tell you about defiling our sweet Cassiopeia?” Jax moaned as he took Josh’s vacated seat, his flavor of the night abandoned to the sofa.

“Maybe I like it,” Cassie teased him right back.

“My eyes. My ears.” Jax fell back against the seat in horror, and we all laughed.

They were ridiculous, and I loved every second of it.

“You gonna get a room with Giggles over there?” Bash asked.

“Nah. I’m good for now,” Jax said as the guys from Savage Night came up the stairs with a few other women.

The woman Jax had been making out with didn’t seem to care about being abandoned when Aiden, the lead singer of our opening band, took a seat next to her.

Those boys were terrible flirts, almost as bad as Jax. Aiden wasn’t as hot as Jax, but he definitely looked more invested in Giggles.

Connor, their bassist, had been low-key coming on to me on the dance floor, but I’d brushed him off. I didn’t date musicians, and I’d made sure he knew that, plus he was younger than most of us and new to the rock-and-roll lifestyle. No way in hell was I going to get tangled up in that, even if I had felt something for him.

Besides, I wasmarried.

Fucking married to the only man currently starring in my fantasies. At least I had no plans on making any of those a reality, especially now because of the annulment that couldn’t come fast enough for either of us.

He looked hot tonight, but when did he not? Fitted dark jeans molded to his thighs and a perfectly cut thin sweater stretched across his chest, the sleeves rolled up to show off some serious arm porn.

What the hell was it about a good, strong forearm? It shouldn’t be sexy, but it was.

“I’m so happy you’re here. That you came to Vegas,” I said to Cassie, trying to turn my attention from Josh’s arms.

“Totally last-minute decision. I missed my guy, and I had some extra vacation days. Perfect for an extended weekend,” Cassie replied.

“I missed you too, baby.” Bash punctuated his words with another kiss.

“We know,” Tristan and Jax grumbled good-naturedly.

“You guys going to do a bunch of girly stuff together?” Jax asked me.

I rolled my eyes. “Yeah, I’m totally down for a spa day and then brunch at a strip club. Think they do legs and eggs. What’s the male equivalent?” I asked.
