She opened it and poked her head out. Apparently, the coast was clear because she slipped out without another thinly veiled jab at me.

She was right about one thing. This was a fucking nightmare, one I needed to rectify immediately. I was still on shaky ground, trust-wise, with the guys. This could send them over the edge.

I swiped my phone on and pulled up my attorney’s number—my personal attorney, like I’d told Charlie. No way was I contacting our legal department for the band. Phillip and I had known each other since we were kids, and I trusted him.

“Hey, Josh. How’s it going?” he answered.

“I have a situation.”

“Ah, fuck, you knock someone up? Wrap it up, man. Wrap it up,” he replied with a chuckle.

I squeezed the back of my neck. “Fuck off. No one’s pregnant. I got married.”

Silence.

“You there?”

Laughter boomed through the phone. “You? The commitment-phobe?Married? Ah hell, I’m going to need a play-by-play on this.”

“It was a drunken Vegas mistake. And we need it annulled as fast as possible.”

“Well, shit. Who’d you marry? Do I know her?”

“My drummer.” I sighed.

His bark of laughter rang through my ears. Phillip had laughed when I told him the band stuck me on tour duty, so, of course, marrying Charlie sent him over the top.

“Charlie? Oh, that’s fucking rich. I knew you had the hots for her but marrying one of your band members? Tsk-tsk, Joshy.”

“Can you razz me another time? I have an insane hangover.”

“Man, this keeps getting better. I can’t believe you actually got married.” His laughter overwhelmed his words for a moment. “Hold on, I need a moment to process this.”

“Youneed a moment? How the fuck do you think I feel?”

“Are you fucking her?”

I bit back a yell. “No, you asshole. I’m not. This is a mistake that we need to get annulled as soon as possible.”

“No wonder you’re so testy.”

“Fuck off,” I grumbled, in no mood for Phillip’s taunts. “Why did I even call you?”

“Because I’m your best friend and a kick-ass attorney.”

“Whatever,” I muttered.

“Don’t worry. I’ll get the paperwork started today and I’ll keep it all as quiet as possible.”

“Thanks.” I tried not to think about all the ways this could go wrong. But I trusted Phillip to take care of it.

“Don’t do any more stupid shit until this is handled.”

“Wasn’t planning on it.”

“Fuckingmarried. That takes the cake, man. Hope you at least got a kiss after your ‘I do’s.’”

I sighed again. “If I did, I don’t remember.”
