“Go away,” Josh replied to him, ignoring everyone else in the room as he lowered his head.
“You’re right. The only thing that matters is that you’re walking down that aisle toward me and then you’re really mine forever. No charade, no fake dating, just mine,” he murmured before he sealed his lips to mine, swallowing my soft gasp.
Sometimes it was still hard to believe that he was the same man that I’d done anything to avoid, the man who’d irritated me to no end.
His hands banded around my waist, anchoring me to him, and I fully participated in the kiss. The wedding could wait.
“All right. All right. How about we get you two married first and then you can start your official honeymoon?” Jax said.
“Yes. You can kiss her at the end of the aisle, Josh. You’re messing up her makeup,” Jules said, grabbing my arm as if to physically separate me from Josh. It was probably going to take that because I never wanted our kisses to end.
Josh lifted his head. “Why didn’t we elope again?”
I grinned. “Let’s give them this moment and then we’re disappearing right after the cake.”
“Sounds like a plan. See you at the end of the aisle. I’ll be the feral guy looking like he wants to devour you,” he whispered into my ear.
“Dammit, Josh. You’re killing me.” I groaned.
“Only fair, since you’re constantly setting me on edge.” He paused, pressing a quick kiss to my lips. “And I love every second of it.”
“Go. Go. Go,” Cassie said, practically shoving Josh toward the door.
Josh shot me a wink and then turned to Jax. “Try not to be too over the top.”
Cassie barked out a laugh. “Good luck with that.”
“I’m never over the top. I’m perfectly at the top,” Jax said, linking his arm through mine. “You really want to get hitched to that guy again?” he asked as Josh walked out of the door.
“Absolutely,” I said.
“I knew you two were going to be perfect for each other since day one,” he said.
I scoffed. “Please. There is no way that’s possible.”
“It’s true. It’s why I didn’t try hitting on you more.”
I shook my head. “Right. That was the reason. Not my telling you to stop.”
“I mean, that was some of it. But you and Josh, that push and pull, it was destiny. Aren’t you glad I ditched you guys for that random chick in Vegas?”
“I refuse to answer that because you’ll hold it over me forever.”
“I believe I got my answer. Now let’s get you married, Mrs. CH,” he said as we followed behind Evie, Cassie, and Jules.
As I walked down the makeshift aisle toward the man who’d snared my heart, I couldn’t regret a single moment that had gotten us here. He was everything I hadn’t known I wanted—hadn’t known I needed.
“Hello, Mrs. Harrison. You ready to do this again?” Josh asked as I let go of Jax’s arm and linked my fingers with Josh’s.
“Fucking hell, Jax. What are you wearing?” Bash called out, and I couldn’t help but laugh again as my bandmates bickered.
This was my perfect wedding.
I faced Josh again. His eyes held all the love I ever could ever need.
“Abso-fucking-lutely.”
