“So, we’re dating.”

“And fucking,” she said, grinning.

“Absolutely fucking,” I growled, rocking my hard cock against her belly.

“Typical man,” she muttered, her voice laced with humor.

“You said it first.”

“So, what are we telling the guys?”

“Nothing. We’re going to go with the flow and see what happens. They’ll only be pissed off if I hurt you. They’ve already threatened me. Multiple times.”

Her smile deepened. “Of course they did. Idiots. Like they could really do more damage to you than I can.”

I chuckled. “You’re probably right.” Then I nudged her again. “So, about those two hours.”

“Whatever shall we do to pass the time?”

Then her mouth was on mine and any further discussion would wait.

Chapter 23

CHARLIE

“Home, sweethome.”Jaxflopped down on one of the oversized couches in Tristan’s studio a few days later.

The bus had pulled into New York five days ago, we’d done our final two shows, and now we were getting ready to record our new album. It’d been a whirlwind, and I was still trying to catch my breath. Josh was staying in my apartment since he didn’t have a home base in New York, and it was cramped.

Well, he was cramped. And I teased him about it endlessly.

It was perfect. I was dating my husband. The guys hadn’t killed him.

And I still waited for the other shoe to drop. It was too good. No more articles from Troy. The gossip sites weren’t filled with fake stories about Josh and me and my bandmates and me.

I shouldn’t be on edge, but I was.

“This is not your home,” Tristan said.

Jax linked his hands behind his head. “It’s like a second home. And Evie loves when I’m here.”

Tristan rolled his eyes. “She’s just being nice.”

“Yes, I am,” Evie said as she walked into the studio with her son, James.

“Hey, little dude,” Jax said, jumping up from his seat to fist-bump with the adorable four-year-old.

“We brought lunch,” he said. “Mommy said I get to eat two cookies and then I can drum with Charlie.” He flashed me his pleading eyes.

I laughed. “Anything for my favorite guy.” I scooped him into my arms as he giggled.

Josh sidled up next to me, his hand on my waist. “I thought I was your favorite guy?”

Jax groaned. “CH, I know you two are trying this dating thing for real, but it’s still weird.”

His tone was teasing, so I didn’t take him seriously, but I still wondered if the guys were okay with Josh and me as a real couple.

But as Jules would say, that was me looking for problems that weren’t there.
