She burst out laughing. “Oh my god, that was horrible.”
“You love it,” he said.
“Stop hare-assing me,” she fired back.
He paused and then chuckled. “Not bad, Gabs. Not bad at all.”
She walked away, shaking her head. He was insane.
“Looking pretty flirty with the bunny, Gabi,” Riley said with a smirk as she popped up next to Gabi.
“What? It’s just Max being ridiculous as usual,” she said, wondering how pink her cheeks were.
“Sure. Sure. What did he say?”
“What did who say?” Ava asked when Gabi and Riley reached her table.
“The Easter Bunny,” Riley said innocently. “I think he was flirting with Gabi.”
“I heard the bunny is just a big flirt.” Gabi shrugged.
Ava tilted her head in question. Had Gabi given herself away? She knew she had to tell Ava what was going on, but she should probably talk to Max first.
It was another excuse to prolong figuring out what the hell was going on between them aside from mind-blowing hoppy endings.
She bit back a laugh.
“What’s going on with you?” Ava asked.
“What? Nothing. I need a drink. Anyone want anything?” she asked, making a beeline for the table filled with refreshments as soon as they called out what they wanted.
