Bastard.

She shifted over him and palmed his growing cock.

He let out a strangled breath.

“See you at breakfast, Max,” she said, giving him a pump before she released him and headed for the door.

“Cruel, Gabi. So cruel. ‘Must you leave me so unsatisfied?’”

“Wow. Quoting Shakespeare so early in the morning?” she asked with a smirk. “You’re a constant surprise.”

He wiggled his brows at her. “I’ve got a surprise right here,” he said, gesturing to his hard cock tenting the sheet.

She licked her lips without thought and he groaned.

“You’re ridiculous,” she said. “And I really have to go.”

She gave him a quick kiss, swiping her tongue over his parted lips. Then she bolted for the door. She couldn’t let him distract her anymore this morning. She was pushing her luck as is.

She poked her head out the door, and thankfully, no one was in the hallway. It was still early, but with Elise not being on a set schedule, running into Ava was a real fear. She silently and quickly walked to her room, slipping in and shutting the door behind her.

Success.

She snuggled down into her covers, but all she could smell was Max. She wanted to go back to his room, but she questioned her sanity. She’d never been this reckless before in her life. It was exhilarating.

“Oh my god, what are you guys doing here?” Ava asked when her parents walked into the house right before lunch.

“Max didn’t tell you?” Gail asked as she pulled her daughter into a hug.

“I wanted it to be a surprise,” Max said, coming down the hall from the garage. “Surprise.”

He’d told them he had to run an errand this morning, but Gabi could’ve used a warning that his parents were visiting.

Seriously? She’d just spent the night in his bed and he hadn’t even told her that they were coming?

And now she felt guilty.

For making it all about her. For banging her technical boss and best friend’s older brother. She’d basically grown up with the Bastians as her family and Gail and Malcolm had always treated her like one of their own.

Ugh. She was being irrational, but she couldn’t seem to stop it.

“Max always loved surprises,” Gail said. “Especially on April Fool’s Day.”

Great. In her lust-filled brain, she’d forgotten that today was a holiday for him. Now she was nervous.

“Grammy. Papa,” Connor and Amelia both yelled as Amelia rushed to hug Malcolm and Connor hugged Gail.

“Oh, you two are getting so big,” Gail said. Ava stepped out of her mother’s hold so Gail could pick Connor up and give him a big hug. “I’ve missed all of you so much.”

“We missed you, too,” Amelia said, from her grandfather’s arms.

“Hello, Gabi. Hope these hooligans aren’t giving you too much trouble,” Malcolm said.

“You mean Max, right?” she asked with a smirk.

Malcolm laughed. “He’s the worst of the bunch.”

“And he’s right here. Really feeling the love right now, Dad,” Max said. “And I have no crazy plans today.” He paused and pulled something from behind his back. With a pop, confetti exploded in the air.
