“Is that a challenge?” he teased.

She let out a husky laugh. “Oh my god, no, you insatiable beast.”

“Only for you, Gabi,” he said, leaning in to nuzzle her neck again. “Only for you.”

“Maybe a little longer,” she said with a sigh.

He grinned against her jaw before peppering it with nips and kisses. Her fingers locked in his hair and she tugged him up until his lips were on hers.

“Max,” she moaned into his mouth, and he dove in, his tongue tangling with hers and hopefully wiping away any ideas about leaving this room and his bed.

“Okay, I mean it this time,” she said an hour later.

He chuckled. They were still wrapped up in each other’s arms, legs tangled together.

“But we need to cuddle. It helps with my game focus,” he said, grinning at her.

She laughed, swatting his chest. “Right.”

“I’m not nearly done kissing you,” he said as she rolled from the bed, slipping on a T-shirt that wasn’t his.

“Stop tempting me,” she said, pulling her hair from the back of the shirt and then pulling on her panties and sleep shorts.

He groaned. “You should never wear clothes.”

“Walking to my room naked would be kind of risky,” she said.

“So you should stay here,” he said.

“That’s an even bigger risk.”

He knew she was right, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t annoyed by it. They needed to talk to Ava, but right now was not the time to get into this conversation with her. Partly because he didn’t want her to say something he didn’t want to hear, especially when he had to be completely focused and on his game tomorrow night.

And maybe because he was being a damn chicken.

He was usually a hell of a lot more confident. It was one of his best qualities. But this woman had the power to bring him to his knees. He should have been more freaked out about that than he was.

He happened to enjoy being on his knees in front of her, and if two hours ago was proof, so did she.

“What dirty thoughts are you thinking about right now?” she asked, a hitch in her voice.

“Wouldn’t you like to know,” he said, stepping from the bed and tugging her against his naked body.

“Maybe,” she said. “Nope. No. Stop distracting me. I have to go.”

Then she slammed her lips down on his, startling him for a brief moment, before he wrapped his arms around her waist and tugged her in tight.

She ended the kiss almost as quickly as it had begun, and his cock was already starting to harden again.

“Dammit, Gabs,” he groaned, his forehead against the top of her head.

“You’re irresistible, you know that? Even if you do look like a burly mountain man,” she teased.

“You love it.”

“It’s all right.”

“Keep that up and I’ll drag you right back into that bed.”
