Page 60 of Going All In

“We talked about this, Darcy,” he taunted.

“Sorry. You caught me by surprise.”

“Now I’m going to kiss you. For show, of course.”

“Of course,” she whispered as he leaned across the table and sealed his lips to hers.

Fuck. He’d missed her mouth against his. Missed the little moan that always slipped past her lips when he kissed her. His girl was vocal.

Not his girl.

He broke the kiss before he ended up pulling her across the table and into his arms.

Her face was flushed, her lips wet from his, and her eyes sparkled under the soft light in their corner of the café. Light green, luminous, and filled with faintly banked heat. He was definitely feeling similar effects from that kiss, and he needed to clear his head.

“Have you talked to your mother recently?” Yep. That would do it.

She laughed. “You want to talk about my mom right now?”

“Just wondering if I need to make a dish for our next dinner with your family.”

“That’s sweet, but you don’t really have to do that. And yes, I talked to her. She kept saying that she wants to see more pictures of us because we’re so cute together.” Darcy rolled her eyes.

“Well, we can easily do that. Come over here, girlfriend,” he said, patting the chair next to him.

“Right now? I look like a mess,” she said, patting her bun. Strands had slipped out and brushed against her cheek.

“You definitely do not look like a mess.” She looked simply beautiful. Minimal, if any, makeup, flushed skin, and wispy bits of hair he wanted to tuck behind her ears.

But he couldn’t tell her that without freaking her out, most likely.

Fuck. He was the mess.

She settled into the seat next to him, coffee cup in hand. He held his phone up in front of them.

“Kiss my jaw,” he said, and she leaned in, pressing her lips to him. His cock hardened further at the touch, but he mentally told it to calm the fuck down as he snapped a few pics.

He posted two of them on Instagram.

Coffee at our favorite spot. Missed my girl.He ended it with a double heart emoji for good measure and tagged Darcy.

Darcy’s phone buzzed, and she dropped her head with a laugh.

“What?”

“It’s going to be my mom.” She flipped her phone over and tapped on the notification.

Mom:You guys are the cutest. We should do another dinner soon.

“Wow. That was fast,” he said, and laughed.

“I swear she has both of us on notifications so she instantly knows when we post something. I’m sorry. She’s a little crazy.”

“This is what you wanted, though.”

“It is. But it’s embarrassing how she instantly responds. It’s not like your mom does that to you.”

“She’s terrible with texting and hates social media, but she did see a picture of us and said you were lovely.”
