“Not bad. Not bad. Josh is talking about another tour soon. We’ve only been back a month, but the money’s on the road.”
“Yeah. I’m sure we’ll be out there as soon as the album drops if Josh has his way.”
“I can’t wait to hear the album when it’s done.”
“Come by the studio tomorrow if you want. We only have a handful left to record,” I said.
“Will do, man. Definitely. Now tell me about this new drummer. A chick, man.” Cameron paused and laughed. “Jax hitting on her every second? Who’d she play with before?”
“He crashed and burned, thankfully. Nothing good happens when bandmates hook up. She’s fucking awesome. Played for some all-female band before she auditioned for us.” Then I glared at him. “Keep it in your pants around her. You’re almost as bad as Jax.”
He barked out a laugh. “I’m not sure if that’s an insult or a compliment. But the heart wants what the heart wants.”
“You’re an idiot, and keep your heart and other parts away from Charlie.”
“Got it, man.” He held his hands up in surrender. “Want another drink?”
“Sure,” I said, taking another glass half-filled with whiskey. It took the edge off, and after today, I needed it. I looked around the packed house for Tristan and his judging eyes, but he was off somewhere, and when Cameron poured himself a glass and raised it in a toast, I had no other choice but to drink. A few glasses wouldn’t hurt anyone.
