"I'll take my lunch break now, but I'm buying you something to eat as well, and you better finish it." It's like Melissa's last few words sparked something in my brain.
I completely forgot to text Nicolas back. My intention was to give him a call last night, but by then, it had already been an entire day without any communication from my side.
"You're a menace." I laughed at her antics.
"You know I mean well."
I chuckled again, shaking my head. "Enjoy your lunch break and I promise to finish all of my food,Mom."
"If I were your mother, I would've given you a scolding." She pointed at me. "I'll see you later. Should I lock the door?"
"No, it's okay, I'm waiting on maintenance to fix the light in the restroom." Melissa nodded and left my office, closing the door behind her.
There were multiple emails that required my attention, and once again, it completely slipped my mind that I needed to respond to Nicolas. About twenty minutes later, I heard the main door open and then close.
I assumed it was Melissa because the maintenance employees always called or knocked. They'd never just enter. I glanced at the black, circular clock on the wall and acknowledged that I actually needed to eat something before I passed out.
My eagerness pushed me off my chair and I excitedly exited my office. "What did you get me?" I asked, fixing my shirt button. "I'm star—" When I looked up, I immediately came to a halt.
Because it wasn't Melissa.
Nicolas sat on the couch in the waiting area, his long legs spread open with one hand placed on his muscular thigh and the other resting on the backrest of the couch.
I didn't even want to know how he found me, because youneeded an appointment before coming up to this floor. The name of our business wasn't even on the main board on the ground floor as we just moved offices a couple of months ago, and it had been delayed.
"Nicolas." My voice betrayed me, coming out in a shaky whisper.
He adjusted his hips and my eyes lingered on his crotch for a brief moment. "I've been waiting for you to text me," he said calmly, almost too calmly. "Rude, really."
I blinked slowly, trying not to show him that his mere presence right now intimidated me, but in the best possible way. "I'm sorry, I've been really busy. I planned on calling you, but it slipped my mind."
He glanced around the room, removing his arm from the backrest and held his hand up to show me the access card in between his index and middle finger before pocketing it. "It slipped your mind?" he asked.
That tone sent chills down my spine and I gulped, digging my teeth into the soft flesh of my lower lip. I stared at him with wide eyes, watching him get up in a slow, menacing manner. "Now we're all alone and I can do whatever I want to you, I'm going to assume that your little assistant will probably be back within an hour."
"An hour?" I mocked. "Isn't that a little too long for you?" His laughter in return was humourless and definitely gave me a dangerous thrill.
"That mouth of yours needs to be filled with my cock rather than spewing nonsense. Wouldn't you agree, Gabriella?" I released a heavy breath, taking a step back.
Nicolas slowly walked closer to me and I knew that soon I'd be backed into a corner. "I'm sure you like the attitude," I sassed.
"Oh, I love it," he agreed. "Makes punishing you absolutelydelicious."
"You want to punish me?"
"Yes." My back hit the wall and I gasped softly, placing both palms on the cold surface behind me. "Now you've got nowhere to run."
He stood flush against me now and placed both palms on the wall beside my head before leaning in. "Then again, even if you ran, I would've had you pinned down within seconds."
I swallowed, trying to ignore the throbbing sensation between my legs. "I'd love to see you try," I taunted.
"I'm sure you wouldn't want me chasing you through this office building." He moved his face closer to mine, his warm breath fanning across my cheek. "Then everyone would know what a dirty girl you are."
"Or they'd assume you're a maniac and call the police."
"They could try, but Iaman agent, so the police wouldn't be able to do anything. I'd just borrow their cuffs and use it on you." Instinctively, my hands move to his chest and I tried pushing him away.
"Of course, you would," I murmured. "I wouldn't put it past you, you psycho." The jab was playful, and I'm sure anyone else would've taken offence to the term, but Nicolas only smiled mischievously.
