Page 97 of Lethal Infatuation

"Do you want me to beg?" he asked.

"Yes." I tugged on his hair, causing him to hiss. He looked at me with a look I hadn't ever seen before. Could it be lust? No, I've seen his lustful gaze. Perhaps love? Admiration?

"Please, sweetheart," he whispered in that deep, husky voice. "Please let me kiss you." The scent of his cologne infiltrated all of my senses. "You know I'd crawl for you if you asked me to. I'd do anything just to get a taste of these lips."

His body heat nearly melted me. Branding my skin with pure molten lava. "Again," I whispered. "Beg me again."

"Please, pretty girl." He rested his cheek on mine, whispering in my ear. "Only one kiss." My brain malfunctioned, almost lagging. "Wouldn't you like that? My lips on yours?"

"Yes," I said softly. At first, I wasn't sure he heard me, until he cupped my face and slowly connected his lips with mine. His movements were slow, intense, dizzying. We've never kissed like this before, it's like he poured all of his love into me and erased every negative feeling.

Every bad memory. Every ache. Every pain. With my eyes closed and my arms wrapped around his neck, I got lost in him. Forgetting about the world. Forgetting about everything that everexisted and solely focused on him.

He pulled away slowly, his lips brushing against mine. "I love you so damn much." I couldn't breathe, my heart nearly bursting at the seams.

"I love you more," I whispered. "I love you endlessly."

FORTY

Ihooked my thumbs underneath the dark brown, leather holster that sat tightly against my upper body. Ares stood next to me as we waited for the guard to unlock the holding cell where Antonio was being kept.

He refused to make eye contact with us, hanging his head lowly. "We only need ten minutes," Ares said to the guard who nodded. We stepped inside and watched the man lock the gate behind us. "Rise and shine, Antonio."

Ares stepped closer, but I stayed in the corner, shoving both hands in the pockets of my black slacks. I watched the interaction closely. I was biding my time, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Of course, the motherfucker wasn't going to look at us. Both arms were on his thighs as he leaned forward. "Not going to talk to us?" Ares asked, stepping closer.

I saw the twitch in Antonio's hand and slowly approached him. His movements were quick, but I still beat him to it. He was in the midst of landing a punch in Ares' abdomen when I stepped in between them and blocked the hit.

I grabbed him by the throat and yanked him up, slamming him against the wall. He wheezed and coughed as his body collided with the concrete. "You're a fast one." He laughed.

I wasted no time and punched him in the nose with all of the force I could muster. There was a sick, cracking sound that reverberated off the walls of the cell. Blood gushed from his nose, dripping down his lips and chin.

"I don't understand what's so funny, but I'd love to laugh as well," I said darkly, watching him groan in agony. He clutched his face, closing his eyes.

I grabbed a fistful of his hair and gripped both of his wrists in my other hand, holding it against his chest. "I was thinking of that little bitch of yours. You came just in time. We were all about to take turns fucking—"

I pushed his head all the way down, connecting his face with my knee before he could finish his sentence. He fell to the floor and I immediately placed the heel of my foot on his neck, applying more pressure with each passing second.

I watched him gasping for air and grabbed my gun from the holster, aiming it at his head. "Sorry about that. Maybe you'd like to finish your sentence."

Ares placed his hand on my shoulder and stepped forward, standing next to me. "Take it easy, Calisto," he said softly, but loud enough for me to hear. I didn't let up, though, or remove my eyes from Antonio.

His face turned red in colour and I could see him begin to visibly struggle. I pushed my foot harder against his neck as hestruggled, trying to escape, but it was futile.

"I'm waiting, Antonio." I cocked the gun, removing the safety.

"Nicolas," Ares warned.

The tension in the space had grown tremendously, like the slightest thing could tick me off at any given moment. I glared at him, crushing his throat.

"Fuck you," he wheezed, and I laughed softly, nodding. I removed my foot from his neck and stomped it against his chest. Before he could make any other sounds, I bent down and shoved the gun in his mouth.

"This cell is lacking in colour. I think red would be rather fitting. Wouldn't you agree?" I could hear Ares muttering something behind me. It sounded like he saidfuck me,but I was too zoned out at this point to decipher it.

Antonio looked at me with widened eyes. The hand I shot was bandaged and I grabbed it, crushing it. He screamed in agony and I shoved the gun further down his throat.

"You're one lucky motherfucker, I'll give you that. If it were up to me, you would've been dead by now." I placed my index finger on the trigger. "However, I'm a law abiding citizen, and the man behind me is the reason you're being spared, but don't worry. When you're in jail, I'll ensure that you don't last very long."
