"That can be arranged," Jaxon responds.

I smirk. "It'll make it easier to keep an eye on them, too. Especially since I've decided to keep Iris in charge of the whole operation."

"Really?" Jaxon's surprise is obvious. I nod, not willing to give any further explanation. "Interesting choice. She's fresh blood."

"I always choose the best people for the job. Fresh blood has new perspective."

"I can see that." He stands and offers his hand. We shake and I turn to leave. "Viper."

I pause and glance over my shoulder. "Yeah?"

"I'm glad you came back. The club could use a man like you."

I smirk. "Yeah, I'm sure you could."

As I turn the handle, Jaxon's voice calls out one more time. "By the way, you're welcome to keep using the club tonight."

"Thanks. We'll see what happens."

"Just don't break anything. It's expensive to replace."

"Yeah. Right." I give him a pointed look.

I know exactly what he's talking about–Iris.

I leave the office and shut the door.

Scarlett is standing near the VIP rooms.

She raises her eyebrow and I shrug.

I've got bigger things to worry about.

My first concern is making sure Iris is okay.

I find her in the locker room, hastily throwing her things into a bag.

She turns and her gaze meets mine. "Viper. I—uh?—"

She clears her throat.

"Relax, Iris. It's going to be fine. I've got everything under control."

"Everything?"

I nod.

"You bought the club," she breathes. "Does that mean?—"

"Yes. You'll no longer have to answer to Lyon. The club is mine."

"Thank God." She impulsively rushes toward me, wrapping her arms around my neck and pressing her body against mine.

"You're welcome," I murmur, sliding my arms around her waist and holding her tight.

She tilts her head up, and our eyes meet.

A rush of emotion sweeps over me, and before I can stop myself, my lips are on hers, demanding and insistent.
