Yeah, that wasn’t happening.

The taste of her rage was still on my lips, and I liked it. Hell, it was all I could think about. I pushed the door open. Jess gaped as she started to retreat.

“That’s breaking and entering!” she spat.

“I’d say we’re even now.” I grinned at her.

“A felony isn’t cute,” she said as she started to look around the room.

I noticed her phone the moment she did. She ran to the couch at the exact moment I did. She was closer, but I was faster.

Jess had her phone, but I had her in my arms.

“Let me go.” She started to try and wiggle free from my hold.

“I like you here,” I said as I leaned and smelled the top of her head.

I didn’t know why the fuck I did that, but she smelled good. My actions didn’t go over well with her.

“Did you just sniff me?” she asked, horrified.

“You smell sweet,” I murmured.

“Sorry I don’t smell like cults and demons,” she growled.

Her comment pissed me off so much that I maneuvered her so I could look into her eyes.

“What the fuck did you say that for?” I asked as I pressed my forehead against hers.

She inhaled and breathed, “Don’t.”

She wouldn’t meet my eyes, but the moment she did, I caught my breath.

“Glooms,” I sighed.

“Don’t call me that,” she said, her voice breaking.

This was not how I figured this talk would go, but I also knew when I had an opening and went for the kill.

I tipped her chin up, bringing my mouth down to hers. The rage and pain I felt last time were still there, and I lapped it up. She was like a drug, and I wanted every last drop.

When I pulled back, Jess was panting. Her hands gripped my shirt, and her eyes were closed. I had to admit I liked the effect I had on her.

I liked it a fucking lot.

Feelings like these didn’t come by often, and I knew better than anyone when to hold onto them because most of the time, they didn’t last, so you might as well enjoy it while you could.

“What did you do that for?” she asked.

“I have a proposition for you,” I told her.

Jess started to wiggle free once more. “You could have said that before you slobbered all over my mouth!”

I threw my head back and laughed. “Slobbered? Islobbered? Baby, you kissed me right back.”

Jess gaped at me; she actually believed her own bullshit. Usually, this type of behavior would have annoyed me, but I knew Jess, and maybe that’s why I found it so amusing. This was out of her norm, and I liked pushing her boundaries.

“I did not kiss you back!” she huffed, trying to get away from me.
