Page 173 of Consume Me

“I am well aware. Your dick has been incessantly trying to get inside of me.”

He bites my earlobe and goose bumps scatter on my skin. Kissing along my sensitive neck, a shot of desire zaps through me. I am about to give in when there’s a knock on my door.

“Breakfast is ready,” Bailey says.

“That little cockblocker.”

I giggle. He’s so cute when he’s riled up.

“We’re going to the lodge this weekend.”

What he doesn’t say rings louder. No more excuses.

And I love it there. We have only been once since we returned from the hospital, but I didn’t allow what happened to me impact how I feel about our place. One weekend together sounds lovely. I love spending time with our friends, but we need some alone time as well.

When we reach the kitchen, Dane is feeding Abi, and Kaden is cutting pancakes for Celine. But when I look at my brother and Bailey, they’re on opposite sides of the table, and their tension is palpable.

Blake pulls a chair out and brings me down with him, so I end up sitting on his lap.

“Is that really necessary?” my brother asks.

“You don’t like it? Look somewhere else,” Blake says and brings the fork to my lips.

This moment feels so wholesome, I could burst with happiness.

“We’re going to the lodge for the weekend,” Blake announces.

“Someone is going to get laid,” Abi says.

My brother drags a hand down his face. “Come on, guys.”

“I don’t get why that bothers you with all the girls flocking around you. You shouldn’t feel this tense all the time,” Bailey says.

Hunter glares at her. “Jealous, kitten?”

It’s like they ignore the fact that we’re here as well. They’ve been at each other’s throats, and it’s obvious that they feel something for one another. Instead of giving in, they bicker all the time.

Finishing breakfast, the girls and I head to the main campus together.

“Did you hear him? The nerve of him. I know he’s your brother, but I could squeeze his neck,” Bailey says.

Abi stops and places her hands on Bailey’s shoulders. “Okay, I’ve been waiting for you to realize this, but… you like him.”

Bailey blinks at her, a shudder going through her. “I… no… I refuse to.”

“She’s still in denial. She has to come to terms with it first, Abi,” Celine says.

Bailey remains silent for the rest of the walk when Abi says, “Do you think we’ll catch that asshole before Dane’s racing season starts?”

“You’ll be at his races anyway,” I say, not liking that one bit, but no one could keep me away from Blake, either.

“Mom is stressing out. We had dinner last night, and there was a bit of tension between my parents,” Celine says.

“As the matriarch, she has to have some secrets,” Abi says.

“Kaden won’t.”

“Yeah, but until then…” I remind her.
