“Kienna.” That voice again, and then there was a hand that touched my shoulder. It was cool and soothing, easing some of the tightness of my pain. I twisted around to find myself staring at Alderic.

“You’re real.” I touched his cheek. Yup, he was definitely real. His presence made things clearer, made me feel a little more like myself. Plus, he was utterly scrumptious, and I still had a need to sate. I wound my fingers in his thick dark hair and tugged him to me. “Come here. Did you bring me a present, Santa?”

“Santa?” Alderic blinked, looking adorably confused as I wrapped my arms around him. He made a small choked sound as my bare breasts pressed against him. “Oh fuck. Ma chérie, you’re naked. Are you alright?”

“More than alright now that you’re here.” I kissed along his neck and loved that he shuddered with it. My thigh nudged the hardness rapidly growing in his pants. There was a sudden growl and Alderic was yanked away from me to the other side of the bed. I grabbed his leg and snarled at whoever took him away from me. This Beta was mine.

My body reacted to the other person before it registered in my hazy mind who it was.

A renewed fount of slick ran down my thighs, and a whole new level of pain engulfed me. “Casimir.” I hissed out his name. Damn Alpha! I didn’t want to lose myself again just when I wasgaining some control. I pointed to the door with my arm shaking like I was a drug addict. “Go away!”

What? Panic seized me. I lunged and wrapped my arms around Alderic. “No!” I didn’t know why Alderic had such a mollifying effect on me, but I didn’t want to lose it. With him, I felt cared for and lucid. Casimir, on the other hand, took away all my reason. “Alderic stays.”

I cried out and clung to Alderic as another explosion of pain took me.

“Just stay out of the way, Fournier.” Casimir laid his hand on my calf and that alone was like a mini orgasm. I moaned and bit my tongue so that I didn’t demand more even as he ran his hand up my leg. “Kienna, I’m here. I can make the pain go away.”

“Hey now.” Alderic rose up on his knees, not pushing me off him. “Don’t do anything she doesn’t want. She asked you to go away.”

“She needs an Alpha,” Casimir shot back and shoved the Beta. “Move.”

“Non.” Alderic held his ground. He was the leanest and shortest of the guys on the team. Casimir towered over him as one of the biggest, but he didn’t move. Under his breath, he muttered, “Je ne peux pas croire que je fais ça…” Inhaling deeply, he locked his gaze with his teammate. “Casimir, think this through. If you do something now that she doesn’t want, youwill regret it later on. You’re here for the same reason I am. I know you care for her.”

“I do. We all know what she needs, even though she’s fighting it. I will make her better.”

“She’s allowed to fight it. We can only do what she says—”

“It could kill her if she doesn’t do something!” Casimir bellowed. “I won’t let that happen.”

I cringed at his shout and trembled with want. Both of them were fighting for me in their own way. It was sweet, brave, and arousing.

“Shut up. Both of you.” Was I panting? Dammit, I was such a mess and I needed relief. “The vampire can stay, and you stay too, Alderic.”

“Vampire?” Alderic looked at me askew.

Casimir crawled onto the bed, his predatory gaze on me. “Yes, now—”

“Now.” I grabbed him by the shoulder to hold at arm’s length. One touch was fire. Oh God. I looped my other arm through Alderic’s. Calm clarity… somewhat. I was war and peace at the same time. This was absolutely messed up. “I know I need an Alpha, but I don’t trust myself with all your…” I patted Casimir and couldn’t contain a whimper. “Your Alpha-ness.
