“You were,” she says, eyes pleading for the reason.
“I was just thinking, and I’ll tell you all my thoughts, but let’s order first. I don’t want any interruptions while we talk.’ I look around, checking out our surroundings and thankfully it’s empty on this side of the diner.
“I want to talk, too, but I don’t want to do it in public. I know it feels like we keep saying we will talk and we don’t. We have a little bit but never alone. I think we should be in a private place, just the two of us. I don’t want to feel like I have to hold back anything and you shouldn’t either. So let’s enjoy the rest of this little date and when we get back in town, we can face reality, okay?”
Her smile is beautiful. It’s one I haven’t seen yet and I study it, smiling back at her so she doesn’t think I’m a fucking weirdo. I can’t pinpoint why it’s different, it’s like there is a peace in it, a softness she hasn’t let me see before. Jealousy floods my mind as I remember that Levi gave her a safe space I couldn’t. It drives me crazy and it probably always will. He’s the better man.
“Okay, deal,” I agree. “Whatever makes you happy.”
She raises an eyebrow. “You make me happy.” She reaches her hands out to my lips and I kiss her fingers gently. She pulls away satisfied at the small reassurance the gesture gives her.
Our waiter makes his way to our table, his Southern drawl thick.
“Hey there, I saw you put the menus down and figured you were ready to order. What can I get y’all?”
Alex smiles as she rambles her order to him. “Hi! Henry, is it? Yes, I’ll take a double cheeseburger with bacon all the way. Oh, and can you add mayo?” The waiter nods as he writes down everything she’s throwing at him with ease. “Wait, does it have mustard? I don’t like mustard and I could be allergic, so make sure they don’t put any on there.”
I laugh and she narrows her eyes at me. The waiter chuckles as well and she looks at him with a small smirk on her face.
“What? I could be.”
I put my hands up in surrender, still laughing. “You’re right, angel, you definitely could be, and I’m allergic to bullshit.”
Her mouth falls open and the waiter barks out a laugh that rings through the diner. Alex joins us in laughing.
“Kohen!” She reaches over the table to smack my shoulder.
“I’m sorry, but I had to, and you made it so easy.” I wink and her face flushes.
“And what will you have?”
“Well, I thought I knew what I wanted…” I pause looking, into the beautiful face of my girlfriend “...but you see, this woman here, she has a way of making me say fuck all the things I thought I wanted and to follow her lead. So I think I’ll have what she’s having but can you add on a chocolate sundae dream?” I hand him our menus and place both hands on the table.
“Alright, I’ll have that right out to y’all. Would you like me to bring the shake out before the food?”
“Yeah, that’s fine and two straws please.”
“Alright, I’ll be right back.”
“Thank you,” it comes out in unison and we catch each other’s gaze with huge smiles on both of our faces. Everything feels so right, right place, right time, right girl. Why is there something in the pit of my stomach telling me something is wrong?
Alex
Our shake arrives at the table and it’s like something out of a Katy Perry music video. It’s huge and looks too good to eat. The thick glass cup has to be more than a foot long and is about as wide as a vase for flowers. Vanilla ice cream drips down the sides and I scoop it up with my finger, bringing it to my lips and sucking it off. I make eye contact with Kohen as I pull the finger out of my mouth and he mimics me, wiping some whipped cream from the rim. Instead of bringing his finger to his mouth, he puts it up to mine. My mouth opens instinctively, sucking the sweet creamy substance off his finger. I swirl my tongue around it for good measure, keeping eye contact with him purposefully.
Heat fills his gaze as his pupils dilate, darkening his eyes to a forest green. “Don’t start something you can’t finish, angel.”
“Oh, but I can finish,” I taunt, winking at him. His top lip runs across his bottom one and he looks like he could devour me right here on this table. I lay my hand flat on top of it. “Do you want me, Kohen?” My eyes fall to the table and he follows to where I tap it. He knows what I’m implying.
“Yes.” He pauses, then I feel his foot nudging my legs open. “And I want you to say my name as I fuck that pretty little pussy, right here for everyone to see.”
I clear my throat. Moisture fills my panties, still messy from our little detour.
“Would you like that, angel?” His smirk is telling me everything, the naughty thoughts he must have envisioning me spread open for him here to use as he pleases. Because let’s be honest, I’ll let him.
“Would you like for every guy in this place to see me fucking you, how you gush for me, to hear you moan my name?” His words melt me in my seat and I need him now.
“I would,” I say simply.
