“What did you just say?” Jill asked, frowning in confusion.
“I’m letting you go, Angel,” Logan said, forcing the words out of his mouth that were going to fucking destroy him.
Her eyes narrowed on him as she murmured, “I see.”
“It’s for the best, Angel,” Logan said, moving to touch her face only to think better of it and dropped his hand back on the armrest.
“And the children?” Jill asked, looking thoughtful.
“They can go, too,” Logan said, swallowing hard as he forced himself to look away. “I’ll make sure that you have everything you need to take them safely to your family.”
“They’re marked, Logan,” she said, making his jaw clench painfully at the reminder of what Magnus did to them. “The Sentinels will send them away.”
They weren’t fucking touching his family.
“Then, I’ll send you to England. I have a house on the coast that I can set you and the children in until your house is built,” Logan said as he thought about the land that he’d bought forElizabeth, but it wasn’t Elizabeth’s face that he saw when he pictured that land anymore.
It was his angel.
“I’ll make sure the house is big enough for you and the children and that you have everything you need,” Logan swore as he did his best not to think about just how fucking much it was going to hurt to let them go.
There was a pause before Jill asked, “On the land that you bought for Elizabeth?”

“And you’ll make sure that we have whatever we want?” Jill asked, watching him curiously.

“You already have me, Angel,” Logan whispered hoarsely.
“No, I don’t,” Jill said as her beautiful green eyes turned silver.
“Why do you say that?” Logan asked, running his fingertips along her jaw.
“Because you’re trying to send me away,” she said as he watched the first tear roll down her face.
“I don’t have a choice,” Logan said hollowly as he gently wiped away her tears.
“Why?” Jill asked as he slid his hand behind the back of her neck.
“Because I already tried to walk away and I couldn’t do it,” Logan admitted as he used his hold to pull her closer so that he could kiss her forehead.
“Stop trying to break my heart, Logan,” she pleaded softly.
“Is that what I’m doing?” he asked against her forehead as he closed his eyes and felt just how much this was hurting her.
“Yes,” Jill said, pulling away and-
Tore a groan from him when she brushed her lips against his.
“Tell me that you want me to leave,” Jill whispered against his lips.
“You’re not playing fair, Angel,” Logan said, unable to resist brushing his lips against hers.
“Was I supposed to?” Jill asked as she wrapped her arms around him as she moved closer and-
