“She already knows,” came the quietly murmured words as Logan found himself looking up and-

“Elizabeth.”

CHAPTER 61

This wasn’t fucking happening.

This…

“How?” Logan asked, managing to get the word out as he stood up and took in the woman who died screaming his name more than eight hundred years ago.

God, she was still incredibly beautiful, Logan thought as he ran his gaze over her, taking in her golden blonde hair, delicate features, and the generous curves that had once been softened by wool dresses but were now put on full display through a short dress designed to hug every curve to perfection before he took in ice-cold blue eyes and-

Felt absolutely-fucking nothing but anger.

“They changed me, Logan,” Elizabeth said with a bittersweet smile as she reached for him only to frown when he stepped away from her. “Aren’t you happy to see me?”

“Not even a little fucking bit,” Logan said, watching her expression turn calculating as she considered him.

“That’s not what I heard,” she said with a teasing smile as she ran her eyes over him.

“And what exactly did you hear?” Logan asked, watching her smile turn coy as she moved closer.

“That you spent the last eight hundred years pining away for me,” Elizabeth murmured, reaching up to run her fingertips over his arm as she took her time walking around him.

“I wouldn’t call it that,” Logan said, forcing himself to stand there while she ran a set of well-manicured fingernails over his back.

“What would you call it?” she asked, sounding genuinely curious as she made her way around him.

“A misspent youth,” Logan drawled, glaring ahead as she ran her fingertips over his arm.

“Is that what you call it?” Elizabeth asked, sounding amused as he watched her fingernails glide over his chest before his gaze shifted to the mating mark on her wrist, two thick lines wrapped around her wrist with a much thinner line running down the middle.

“You’re mated,” Logan said as his gaze flickered across the pool to Gray and noted the matching mating mark on his wrist, the same one that he’d been led to believe belonged to his missing mate.

God, they played him so fucking well.

“Jealous?” Elizabeth asked as she reached up to run her fingertips along his jaw.

“Not even a little fucking bit,” Logan said, leaning back away from her touch.

“You look good with a beard,” she murmured, only to sigh heavily as she dropped her hand away. “The next time you pay a Pack to protect you, make sure that they can’t be bought.”

“Why are you here?” Logan demanded, forcing himself not to look at Jill or the children, knowing that he would lose it if he did.

“Would you believe me if I told you that I missed you?” Elizabeth asked with a pout as she ran her fingertips over his chest while she made her way around him again.

“Not even a little fucking bit,” Logan said, watching her lips twitch before she disappeared behind his back.

“I guess there’s really no point in pretending anymore,” Elizabeth said with a heavy sigh as she dropped her hand away and-

“Dad?” Shane managed to get out as Logan turned around to find Elizabeth standing next to Emma.

“She’s very pretty,” Elizabeth said as she leaned over and playfully tapped Emma’s nose, making his blood run cold.

“Daddy, do something,” Caleb whispered, looking absolutely terrified as Logan moved to take a step closer only to feel terror spread through his chest when she picked Emma up.

Angel.
