“No, keep the phone. I can access it from the cloud anyway,” Cassandra says with a grin on her face.

I insert a few numbers into the phone but while I’m distracted; she dodges me, and when I turn. She is staring at Scarlett, who is glaring back at her.

“Oh my god, Scarlett, what the fuck are you doing?” Cassandra shrieks. “He is your father’s friend.”

Then Cassandra twists to me, tilts her head to one side with a villainous smirk on her face. Before shaking her head, knowingly. “Now I know why you divorced me.”

Chapter 8

Anton

“Out!” I shout.

Scarlett is sobbing as her face remains on the table. Cassandra has seen her now, but I know she is embarrassed at being caught.

I pick up the desk phone. “Security, my office, now.”

“I can make it go away,” Cassandra says.

“You can also go to jail,” I reply. My voice is low and deadly. Only my hands balling into fists are stopping me from wrapping them around her neck.

I want to be the person who kicks her out of the building. But this is Cassandra, and it is possibly part of her plan. Gain enough evidence against me to have me arrested.

“Go in,” I hear my secretary, Penny, say.

My security man nods at me. Cassandra spins on her heels and glares at him.

“You can’t throw me out,” she hisses. “I’ll sue you if he touches me.”

“We have every right to throw out abusive customers,” I say.

“I’m not a customer.”

“Then we have more right to throw out unwanted visitors.”

She hisses. Throwing her hands in the air and stomping around the security guard.

When she reaches the door, she points at her cell. “I’ll speak to you about this later.” She looks at the table. I glance back to see Scarlett is now on her feet. Tears coat her beautiful eyes. “Oh and Scarlett. He’ll drop you now that he has had you.”

I growl. Striding to her. She smirks and grabs the handle of the door, slamming it as she leaves.

“Make sure she is escorted from the premises and she can never return,” I warn security as he follows her.

I turn, and Scarlett is holding her arms over her chest. I expect to see annoyance on her face, but she is smiling. Unfortunately, tears are streaming down her face at the same time.

“Come here,” I whisper, taking her in my arms and holding her. Never wanting her to feel this ever again.

“I want you to go home and eat. You look pale. I’ll be back in a few hours,” I say, kissing her deep and long.

She pulls back and frowns. “I’m fine.”

“Please, do this for me.”

Her eyes are downcast as she nods and I try to catch my breath, hating I’ve caused the sad look.

“The video,” Scarlett whispers against my chest. Her body trembles. “What if she shows people?”

I stroke her hair, breathing in her scent. “She wants money. That’s all Cassandra ever wants.”
