Logan fakes being annoyed and relaxes back against my chest. “Since you asked so nicely. I’ll tell you. I want another animal. Maybe another dog or cat. I saw an animal shelter close to the hospital and they are always looking for people to adopt.”

I can already tell this girl is going to turn our house into a damn zoo. And I’m a fucking pushover because I will never tell her no.

Logan continues with a big smile on her face. “I want to leave the States and start exploring the world. But we can start with the Bahamas. Oooo or Bora Bora.” She glances over her shoulder for a second. “Seeing you on a beach in nothing but swim trunks…Yes fucking please.”

I roll my eyes and wait for her to continue as she returns to her spot against me.

“The thing I’m most excited about other than spending forever with you. And something I never thought I’d get the opportunity to say is, that I can’t wait to see mini versions of us running around.”

Fuck. It’s like we are one and I can’t believe how lucky I am to have her.

“Me too, Angel. I’m terrified but I can’t wait to watch your belly grow with our baby and see you become a mom.”

I can just picture her snuggling on the couch with Willow and Oliver pressed up against her sides while she reads with her kindle propped on her belly.

Logan interrupts my thoughts and says, “I know we both have our demons, but with you by my side, I know you will help me be the best mom. And I will help you be the best father because you were raised by the best. Your parents are the best example of how I want to be with our kids when they grow up. But most of all I know you will protect us and love us with everything you have and that’s all I could ever ask for.”

I stare at her completely speechless.

After a few moments of silence, Logan turns in my lap and searches my face.

She stands from my lap and leans forward to kiss me. When we break apart, she holds out her hand to help me up.

I stand and immediately pull her into my arms. I press a kiss to the top of her head. “Thank you, Angel.”

Logan leans back and rests her chin on my chest, looking up at me. “Of course.” She reaches around me and smacks my ass. Then starts pulling me inside. “Let’s go you big teddy bear. It’s tattoo therapy time and I know exactly what I want.”

I spend the next thirty minutes setting up while Logan sings Christmas music and dances in the living room. When I get everything settled and sit her down in the chair, I start on the small ice skate she wants on her ankle.

We may not be celebrating Christmas until we get back home, but this is already the best one I’ve ever had.

Logan has a clear view of our future and I’d follow her blindly wherever she leads us.

Chapter Sixteen

Logan

“Soundsgood.Ican’twait. Thank you again. You didn’t have to do this but I’m excited.”

“Of course. It’s the least I can do for everything you did for Addy. I need to get away for a little bit anyways before she kills me for being too clingy.” Lainey says.

“The twins seem capable enough to handle her wrath for a day while you take a break.”

Lainey sighs. “Yeah, they can. Well, drive safe. See y’all in a few days!”

“Can’t wait. See ya!”

I hang up and relax back into my seat. We spent our remaining days in Willow Lake, snuggled up in the cabin. One of the days we barely got out of bed. If we weren’t devouring each other, we were watching movies, reading, or sleeping. I lost track of the number of times we watched Elf.

It was the best way to end the trip. After our emotional talk about the future and deciding to wait to celebrate until we got home, it’s like the rest of the world faded away. The only thing that mattered was us being together. I think our friends and family caught on because our phones were silent.

Grayson reaches over the center console and grabs my hand, intertwining our fingers. He glances over briefly. “How’s Addison?”

“She’s as good as can be expected. They found her a therapist and she is going to move in with Lainey until she can get back on her feet.”

Grayson nods. “So, we are seeing Lainey in a few days?”

With a big, excited smile on my face, I turn to face him. “Yes! Turns out she is a photographer. She mostly does couples and weddings when she isn’t teaching. Since everything started happening with Addison, she took a leave of absence. So, she offered to take photos for us. And I’ve been wanting to get some done but with everything going on, I dropped it. Anyways, she’s going to drive down in a few days and take some for us and the animals.”
