"Yes ... yes ... oh God, yes ..." she gasped, her voice filled with urgency and desire. "Orion, more ... I need more."
Her words sent a surge of heat through me, and I thrusted harder, faster, feeling the overwhelming need to give her everything she was asking for. Our movements became frantic, our breathing uneven as we lost ourselves completely in each other.
"You're mine, Luna," I growled, my voice thick with desire. "All mine."
"Yes," she cried out, her legs shaking as the tension between us snapped. "I'm yours ... only yours."
Her body clenched around me as we both reached the peak together, her moans filling the air, her release shaking her to her core. I followed her over the edge, my own release crashing through me as I held her tighter, not wanting to let go.
For a long moment, we lay there in silence, our bodies still entwined, our breathing slowly returning to normal. I held her close, not wanting to let go, not wanting this moment to end. But reality had a way of creeping back in, and I could see the uncertainty returning to her eyes as she looked up at me.
"Orion. Uh … We need to talk. Umm … there’s something you need to know. I’ve had visions. Visions of you and your clan."
“My clan? What are you talking about?” I tried to feign ignorance.
“I’m not just … normal. My mom was a seer. She often predicted the future, and then the gift was passed down to me after her death.
“You are a seer?”
“Yes, I’m a seer.”
Her words hit me like a punch to the gut. I stared at her, my mind racing, as I tried to process what she was saying. "A seer?" I repeated, my voice barely above a whisper. "You’ve seen … what?"
She hesitated, and then took a deep breath.
"I’ve seen … the danger that surrounds you. The rival clans … the darkness that’s coming for you. I didn’t know how to tell you, but I can’t keep it a secret anymore."
“When exactly were you planning on telling me that you were a seer? I mean … why didn’t you tell me before?”
“Whether I was going to tell you or not is actually not the problem.”
“Then what is the problem? Because I am confused.”
“The problem is that you are not being honest about who you actually are.”
Luna’s gaze pierced deep into mine, as if she could see past every barrier I’d built, down to the very core of who I was. It wasn’t just a look - it was an unraveling. Her green eyes, so intense and unyielding, bore into me with a quiet strength that left me feeling exposed, vulnerable in a way I hadn’t felt in years.
“Who exactly are you Orion, or should I say, what exactly are you? I need to hear the truth from you.”
I was about to respond, to demand more answers, but before I could say anything, my phone buzzed on the nightstand. The sound cut through the tension like a knife, and I cursed under my breath as I reached for it.
It was an urgent call from one of my men.
"Orion," the voice on the other end said, filled with panic. "We’ve been attacked. One of our own … Tremont … he's dead!”
“What!”
Chapter 7
Luna
The weight of my secret was finally off my chest, but the look on Orion’s face when I told him—shock, maybe even betrayal—left me feeling hollow. Orion was about to reveal his secret to me, but before he could say anything, his phone buzzed, cutting through the thick tension between us. The expression on his face darkened instantly, as he listened to the voice on the other end.
I couldn’t hear what was being said, but the sudden shift in his posture, the rigid set of his jaw, told me something was terribly wrong.
“What?” His voice was harsh, filled with disbelief and fury.
He paced away from me, his back tense, as he gripped the phone tighter. “Tremont is dead? How? When?”
