Immediately, he changed the subject, so she didn’t think about hers and bring them back too. That was the last thing they needed.

It is nice. Jacques said they are safe, and this is not something from Fate’s trickery. Maybe I can enjoy this. Maybe we can find a way to let them stay.

Jolie knew his fears, and it was watching them die again.

Because she had yet to feed their other baby, Flynn placed his hand on her belly, and Rinnon shoved energy into her.

Before they could say more, the room shimmered, and Jacques entered the room in his customary way.

“Oh, look. The fancy gentleman has arrived,” Flynn said, trying to be more like himself.

Jacques headed his way, and found his mouth with his, making his claim. He’d heard the whole conversation, and there was no way he was giving up the man-on-man action.

It wasn’t happening.

It was a deep, telling kiss, and Flynn didn’t stop him.

Then, when he broke the kiss, they stood side-by-side, and faced the rest of the room.

“Well, I never saw this day coming,” Flynn’s mother said.

Jacques lifted a brow.

“And that means?” he asked, willing to protect his relationship at all costs.

She explained.

“Flynn used to think he was the best dressed in the room in a suit. He’s not anymore.”

That made Jacques actually laugh.

“I have had many years to practice, Mother of Flynn,” he said, using the same term Rinnon used.
