Luca wrapped his arms around me from behind, making me jump. He’d disappeared into a corner of Garrett’s house somewhere with Ryker, and I hadn’t even heard him come back into the room.
“Jesus. Give a girl a heart attack.” I shivered as he trailed his nose along my neck.
“Maybe Gare can smack your pretty little cunt just like that later.” His breath against my ear made my nipples tingle, and a shiver worked its way down my spine. “While I’m taking you from behind.”
I needed to put a stop to this before I ended up on the counter again. “So... what were you and Ryker talking about?”
Luca buried his face against my neck, and I could feel his smile against my skin. “Stress relief.”
“Why don’t you come over here and cut all these potatoes in half.” Garrett set the chicken to the side and went to the sink to wash his hands.
“Oh! I can do that!” I tried to get up, but Luca moved his hands to my shoulders. “Come on, I burned soup once.”
“And there’s still the faint smell of burned tomato in my apartment.” Ryker sat down next to me, his leg pressing against mine. “When’s dinner?”
Garrett gave him a fleeting glance before very aggressively slamming a head of lettuce on the counter. “Nothing is stopping you from helping.” He took the core out of the lettuce and tossed it at Ryker, who nearly knocked me off my stool avoiding it.
“Children, not in front of our guest.” Luca had the colander of baby gold potatoes Garrett had washed next to him and started cutting them in half.
It was fun to see the three of them interact when they were in such a relaxed atmosphere. As soon as we’d entered Garrett’s house, it was like there was a shift in their demeanors.
Shoes and socks were removed, jackets and ties thrown over a chair in the living room, and shirt sleeves rolled up. It was like all of the tension from the day was gone and what was left wasthem.
Garrett’s movements in the kitchen were unlike anything I’d seen before. He looked at complete ease but also had a sensuality to his movements. I didn’t know if he was just doing it for my benefit or what, but it was turning me to goo inside.
“Paige?” Ryker touched my arm, and I looked over at him. His face looked more relaxed than I’d ever seen it, the wrinkles that usually lined his forehead nowhere to be seen. I’d never really noticed them before until they were gone.
“Hm?” I looked at his lips, wanting to kiss him and feel the prickle of his stubble against my skin. But who was I kidding? I also wanted to feel it between my legs.
They’d woken up a sexual beast inside me, and it felt like my mind was constantly being inundated with images and thoughts of them.
“I asked if you wanted more wine.” His tongue darted out and his lips stayed parted the tiniest bit as if he was opening the door for my tongue.
“I think she wants something.” Luca chuckled, putting his knife down.
“Yes, please.” My voice came out barely above a whisper and it took all my strength not to lean forward and kiss him.
“I’ll get her another glass.” Garrett leaned over the counter and grabbed my empty glass. He had a wine cellar that was bigger than my apartment in his basement with everything a wine connoisseur could ever want.
Ryker rested a hand on my exposed knee, sending sparks through me. “So how is this going to work between the four of us?”
The question hung in the air for a moment before any of us spoke. I had thought about it a lot, and it was something that scared me but also excited me. I’d only ever read poly relationships in books, and most of the time they were paranormal romances with magic or a prophecy involved.
“We take our time and go with the flow.” Garrett drizzled olive oil on the potatoes Luca had put in a grill pan. “It’s been working so far. Not that it’s been that long.”
Luca jumped up on the counter, grabbing his wine glass and swirling it. “I think we should make sure we’re all comfortable and take it one step at a time.”
Ryker squeezed my knee reassuringly as he looked at each of us, his eyes lingering on mine for a moment longer than necessary. “And the sex?”
Garrett paused, a pair of tongs in hand, and looked at me, his stare heated. “Whatever Paige is comfortable with... whether it be one of us at a time, two of us, or if she’s brave, all three.”
Was it getting hot in here? And why did I suddenly want to take my clothes off?
Luca sipped his wine, a thoughtful expression on his face. “We all need to feel comfortable and respected and make sure that everyone’s needs are being met. If someone isn’t feeling safe, they need to speak up. But more importantly, we need to be okay if our dicks touch or a hand slips where it doesn’t belong.”
The four of us looked at each other for a moment before breaking out into laughter. I’d let them worry about that aspect of all being together.
This was both exhilarating and terrifying, but it was definitely something I wanted.
