I put my hand on her shoulder and turned her around. "I promise you, Dante will pay for what he's done to you... and the others." I gritted my teeth. "He won't know what hit him."

Chapter Four

Even I had to admit I'd gone a little crazy when I tried to run over Silas. I'd opened the garage door and there he was, all six feet of him in ripped jeans, a leather jacket, and his blue eyes staring back at me.

Something had come over me. The need to punish him for nearly killing Cole and me on my birthday and setting off the whole shit storm of a life I was now leading.

And it had only been a week.

I was at war with myself. I wanted to believe the motorcycle god blocking my exit was there to help me, but what if it was a ploy to take over the East Arbor Pack?

I did what any red-blooded, sleep-deprived, almost killed two times in a week female would do and I flipped out. He dove from his bike and I backed over it, getting stuck.

It would have been hilarious if I hadn't felt like I was the one on the losing end. My life was completely flipped upside down and I had enough unanswered questions to annoy even a preschool teacher.

"What are you thinking about?" Silas was driving my car back to his den, which he had convinced me was the safest place for us. Dante wanted me dead for whatever reason, and if he found out I was at home, he'd probably come after me.

"Just about how good it felt to destroy something." His bike wasn't destroyed, but it needed some serious repairs before he could ride it again.

Was I sorry I did it? No.

He had looked like he was going to cry when a few of his guys showed up to get my car off it. Luckily, my car was fine. He insisted on driving us because he said I didn't know how to drive. I couldn't blame him.

"One of the pack members has a motorcycle repair shop, so you're lucky." He was driving with one hand on the wheel and the other on the headrest of my seat. I could almost feel him touching my hair, even though he wasn't.

From the moment Silas touched me, I came alive inside and wanted more in whatever way possible. I didn't understand why I had four mates, or if there might be more, but they made me feel invincible.

Four cocks were going to be enough to handle, and I hadn't even been on a date with any of them yet. I wanted Silas so badly, but also didn't know if acting on my urges would be considered cheating.

"When do you think we're going to make our move?" Twisting my hands in my lap, I focused on the scenery outside. My wolf was impatient and wanted to take back what was ours. "The longer we wait, the more time he has to sink his claws in."

"With the storm rolling in... probably not for a few days." He took my hand, bringing it to rest with his on the center console. I let him because it soothed my wolf. The initial freak out of being a wolf was long gone, and now I couldn't imagine her not being there.

"Wouldn't during a storm be the best time? They won't expect it and it will mask our scents, right?"

"It's risky. Forecast says blizzard-like conditions with up to two feet of snow." His thumb rubbed across my hand, and I shut my eyes. "Late season storms are always the worst."

"I wish I knew phone numbers to contact pack members, but I hardly know anyone." I opened my eyes and looked at his large hand covering mine. "Maybe if we could contact some people, we could get a feel for whose side they're on."

He grunted and turned off the highway into the lot for the building I escaped from. It looked like any run-of-the-mill warehouses on the outside and didn't appear to have any neighbors.

"The only person I communicated with was Cole. Through email because he never let me get in a word if we spoke."

I found that hard to believe but didn't say otherwise. He was showing me his cards, and it was clear he didn't really want to save anyone.

"How many members do you have in your pack?"

"I don't know. A hundred or so." He parked my car and shut it off. "We're a smaller pack, but that means we all know each other and get along like family."

"Then you should know the exact number of pack members you have." Unhooking my belt, I turned toward him. "Cole used to be your family. He knows exactly how many pack members he has."

He stiffened and squeezed the steering wheel. "That was a long time ago, and of course he knows how many. He gets that information from his omega. Don't let him fool you into thinking otherwise." He opened the door and got out before I could respond.

The issues between the packs ran deep, and I inwardly groaned. Of course I'd have a mate in each of the packs. Things just couldn't be easy.

Taking a deep breath, I got out of the car and followed him to the front door. My keys were in his jacket pocket, and I needed to keep an eye on him to see if he put them somewhere.
