The growl that came from me was unlike anything I'd experienced. If she died, I was going to rip Cole's dick off, shove it down his throat, then rip his head off and shove it up his ass.

I burst from the trees, and then I saw her.

My mate.

I shifted and dropped to my knees beside her lifeless body. "Bunny." I felt for a pulse, but it was weak. "Fuck! Give me your shirt!"

Rover ripped off his flannel shirt, sending buttons flying, and handed me it. I didn't like the idea of his scent being on her, but she was soaking wet and freezing.

Wrapping the shirt around her, I picked her up as carefully as possible and ran back to the den.

Why would they do this to her?

"How did you find her?" I could barely speak with my canines being out from my anger. I was going to kill them. Every last one of them.

"Found her tangled up in some debris on the shore. She was bound with ropes and a muzzle. As soon as we saw her we called for you." Bone looked more worried than I liked, and I growled at him, causing him to increase the space between us.

When I first met her and knew she was my mate, I should have grabbed her and taken her. How did I know Cole could be so heartless? He was a fucking saint while I was the sinner. One thing was for sure, he wouldn't be getting his paws on her or any other female ever again.

"Get ready to ride." I took my bunny straight into the den and up the stairs. She needed a warm bed and rest.

"Alpha?" Bone looked up at me as I stopped on the landing. "How many reinforcements do you want me to alert?"

"All of them. We're going to war." I looked down at the limp red wolf in my arms. She was exquisite with hair speckled with red and golden hues. "No one fucks with my mate."
