Page 71 of Wolf Forgotten

An ATV started up in the garage, and a few moments later, Dante pulled out with Ivy strapped to the back. Her legs were tied and a muzzle was on her. I didn't even think, lunging forward to get to her, but Brian grabbed me from behind and threw me to the ground.

The urge to shift was strong, but I pushed my wolf back. They wouldn't hesitate to shoot me in my wolf form. At least with me still being human, they might think twice.

I stood slowly, my body burning from hitting the rough gravel. "What are you doing?"

Dante threw his head back and laughed. Had he lost his mind? "Just going for a little evening drive with my gal, Ivy."

Growls came from the side of the house, and three wolves bounded around the corner. Brian and Dante didn't hesitate, and I fell to my knees as three of the pack's strongest males besides the betas were shot.

Brian held his gun against my head again, the barrel hot to the touch. The smell of blood filled the air, and I looked away from the scene in front of me.

"Now, here are your choices, Omega." Dante got off the ATV, leaving it running. "You can either comply or end up painting the driveway my new favorite color. The place could use a little redecoration."

When I didn't answer, he pistol whipped me, my mouth filling with blood and my face burning from the hit. I spat toward his boots, a tooth flying with the blood, but it came up short, which only made him laugh.

He squatted down, a smirk twisting his face into something sinister. "You know, maybe Ishouldkill you, and then your sweet little sister can take her rightful place on her knees in front of me... and under me."

Nausea churned inside my stomach at the thought of him getting his hands on Sara. "Fuck you."

He shoved the gun under my chin and lifted it until I was looking down my nose at him. "I think I'll make you watch."

I couldn't stop the whimper from escaping, and Dante pistol whipped me again. This time, something cracked inside my head and I fell over, curling into a ball.

"Get Cole and that other mutt locked in the basement." He stood and put his gun back in his holster. "Tie this one up to a chair in the kitchen and please, for the love of the moon, find his fucking sister."

I attempted to crawl after Dante but then pain exploded in my head as a boot pressed it into the ground. I was helpless as I watched Dante drive away with my mate lying limp, tied up like an animal on the back of the ATV.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

Silas

"Alpha!"Bone's irritating voice pulled me from my sleep. The fucker always woke me up after a hard night, and I was about ready to rip his throat out. He was perfectly capable as my top beta to handle any situation.

"What?"Sometimes I wondered why I didn't just close the connection. It was a pain in the ass.

"You need to get out to the river." He sounded panicked. I groaned and threw the sheet off of me.

Rolling out of bed, I landed on my hands and knees and tried to shake off the hangover I was sporting. I climbed to my feet and grabbed my pants off the floor but nearly fell over putting them on.

Wolves processed alcohol differently, but when you drink an entire bottle of Jack in a short period of time, it will fuck you up.

"What's wrong?"It was probably something stupid, like a dead animal or a colony of beavers that set up a dam.

"It's a female wolf. She smells like the one that's been staying with Cole's pack. The redhead."

Well, I'd be damned. My bunny had come to her wolf at last.

"Don't you touch her! I'm on my way!"

After pulling my pants back off, I opened the door to my bedroom and shuffled onto the landing overlooking the large den area where we spent most of our time as a pack. It was pretty quiet since it was a weekday and everyone had work.

I ran down the steps and to the door. Springing forward, I shifted and nearly took down Bone in my haste to get to her. I fucking knew I should have just thrown her on the back of my bike the first time I met her.

"We need to get her back to the den. She's in bad shape,"Rover, my second beta, said.

"What do you mean? I'll be there in a minute."The river was close, and I sprinted across the yard and into the trees.

"They tied her up and muzzled her."
