I found that statement hard to believe. At one point, he claimed to not like Blue Wave, yet he was there almost daily.
"That's perfect then. Ric and I can cuddle with her, and you can sleep on the couch."
He narrowed his eyes at me, and I felt the back of my neck heat up. It made me wonder just how far the ability he had could go.
"It's time to get the other archangels involved in this. There's probably several demon possessions we don't even have knowledge of. They would know, though." Lucifer took out his phone like he was considering whether he should call the other archangels.
"I wish you three would stop talking about me like I'm not standing right here." Lia was scrubbing her hands in the sink. "I don't know if any of you should be around me. I won't be able to forgive myself if I do something to you. And tonight, I have felt them stirring inside of me. It's very unusual considering I just gave into them a week ago."
"It will be fine. If the spiders come out, I'll kill them. It's not my first run-in with her." Lucifer looked down at his bare forearm. It was hard to see the two marks he'd shown us the other day, especially with all the other scars that marked his arm.
"What happened?" Ric and I exchanged a look as Lia gently grabbed Lucifer's arm and ran a thumb over the scars. We knew what had happened, at least partly.
Lucifer pulled his arm away from her. "Lilith. She weakened me with dark magic and then used a special knife to drain the blood out of me. The wounds didn't heal correctly. Now I'm left with the constant reminder of what a deceitful bitch she was."
I hadn't known Lucifer that long, but he seldom mentioned Lilith. She had tricked him into a relationship and then gotten pregnant. Then she faked her own death, and eighteen years later reappeared, trying to take over the world.
She failed.
"Well, it's getting pretty late, Lia. Do you want to take my bed? I guess we can sleep out here." I looked around the living room at the couch and the two accent chairs. It wouldn't be comfortable to sleep out here, but I wasn't about to make her sleep on the couch.
"I can sleep in the bed with Ric. He's slept in my bed before. Then I can keep an eye on him and give his wolf what he needs."
Lucifer made a grunting noise, and I crossed my arms over my chest.
"My bed is big enough for all of us to sleep." I wasn't about to let Alaric get away with sleeping with her alone.
