“He is?”
“Totally. Didn’t you see how happy he looked?” He puts his arms around me and holds me close.
“I guess,” I mutter against his big, broad chest, while my stomach flutters with pure happiness.
“I can’t believe he didn’t get all,I told you soabout the cabin though.”
“Huh?” I lift my head and give him a questioning look.
“He gifted it to me, because he said I’d need a lot of space for my family. I didn’t believe him, of course. But now…” Instead of finishing his sentence, he dips his head and draws me into an incredible, tender kiss.
He doesn’t need to say any more. We’ve already talked about having kids and agreed that we both want to have a ton of them. There’s a couple of things I want to do with my life first, but to be honest, I can’t wait to get started growing Ethan’s cubs in my belly.

“Where are we going?”I ask Ethan a few days later. His grandad is back driving the bus, and Ethan has plenty of time on his hands now, so he’s taking me on a mystery trip.
He grins from the driver’s seat of his truck. “You’ll see.”
I fold my arms and snort a little bit.Sheesh.I’ve been the mate of a bear for two weeks and I’m already acting like a grizzly. Well, I kind of like it. I love how shifters are so direct and don’t hide their feelings in a lot of complicated human bullshit.
As we drive all the way up to Brookville, my curiosity grows. But then he pulls up in front of the Jewelry Workshop.
“Ethan, what are we doing here?” I shoot him a panicked look. “You’re not going to beat the crap out of him, are you?”
Okay, therewasa tiny, tiny part of me that wanted to see my sleazy boss get his just desserts, but that was days ago. Now I’m so dang happy and in love, I don’t give a damn.
Ethan raises my hand and presses it to his lips. “Nope. I promise you, I’m not going to hurt him.”
“So, what are we doing here?”
“Starting your internship, of course. You just go in like normal, and I’ll follow. You don’t need to worry about me.”
“I don’t know about this,” I mutter, as I climb out of the truck, but curiosity is already getting the better of me.
Ethan stays right behind me as I ascend the three flights of stairs to the workshop. When I fling open the door, my boss, Christopher, is sitting behind his desk.
Surprise and pleasure cross his face as he takes me in. “Jessica! You decided to come back after all—”
He freezes, the color draining out of his face.
“I’m Ethan,” my gorgeous mate says, stepping forward and pushing up the sleeves of his shirt. “Jessica’s partner. When she told me about the first day of her internship, it sounded so awesome, I thought I’d swing by and see if you’ve got space for another intern.”
Christopher’s mouth falls open, and I dart a look at Ethan. He wants to be a student here? Surely he’s joking. But the expression on his face is perfectly calm.
“A-another intern?” Christopher splutters.
“You won’t need to worry about me, I’ll just sit over there.” Ethan tilts his chin toward a desk in the far corner of the room. “And when you’ve got a spare minute, you could give me a few pointers.”
My boss’s mouth works silently.
Ethan plants his hands on his hips and takes another step closer. “Or maybe you only take beautiful young women as interns?”
I bite down on my tongue to stop myself from laughing.
“N-no, as it happens I-I do have a place available for all genders. For you,” Christopher chokes out.
“Good.” Without waiting for any further invitation, Ethan saunters across the room and takes a seat behind the desk. “Ready when you are, boss.”
