“Harley? What brings you here?” Emilio appears in the hallway dressed in navy pleated pants and a shirt, looking ruthless as hell.
My body radiates anger as I try to control my hands from reaching behind my back and shooting him right between his scrawny eyes, in the same way they killed my father.
But I don’t.
I can’t kill Serena’s father in her own home.
But if I find out he was indeed responsible for my father’s death, then I will get revenge and end him along with Clemente.
“Mr. Alejandro, I’d like to have a word with you.”
He glares at me, his hands tucked into his pockets. “How dare you come to my house after what you did to my daughter. You’re lucky I’m even allowing you inside.”
“I’m not here about Serena, Emilio. I’m here to talk to you about my dead father.”
His eyes widen in fear as panic sets in. “What about your father?”
Looking back at Clara, I ask, “Can we go somewhere quieter?”
He spins and guides us to his office, opening the door for me to step in. I look around his fancy study, with all the books and brown leather couches.
“Have a seat.”
“Nah, I’m good.”
“Fine, have it your way.” He walks around his desk and sits while I take a few steps forward.
“Please explain to me why your phone number was written on a paper at Beau Harrison’s home?”
I watched Emilio’s Adam’s apple bobbing up and down, and I’m now certain he did it. I could kill him now with my bare hands.
He narrows his eyes at me with his palms on the desk. “I do not know who this Harrison is or why he has my number?”
Striding rapidly to the desk, I rest my hands on it and lean forward, only an inch away from his face. “I know it was you, Emilio. You were involved in my father’s death. So I ask again… why did Beau Harrison have your number?”
“I… I don’t know.” He shrugs.
Reaching forward, I grab him by his shirt and lift him out of his chair. His face reddens, and his hands cover mine, trying to break free.
“You fuckin’ ordered the hit, didn’t you? Why Emilio? Why?”
Letting him fall back into the chair, he coughs, trying to catch his breath. “You’re lucky I don’t kill you right here and now. But your time will come, Emilio Alejandro, this I promise. When Serena finds out what kind of man her father is and what he is capable of, she will turn her back on you.”
He jumps out of his chair. “How dare you! Do you think my daughter will listen to you? No, she loves me and will take my word over yours.”
I shake my head and say, “I don’t understand why you wanted my father gone, but you will pay for it. Your time will come soon. I’m promising that.”
“You…”
I take off before he can open his mouth and storm out of his room, slamming the door shut behind me.
I’m biding my time until I can make him pay.
But I have to be careful.
This isn’t just any man—it’s Serena’s dad.
This kill needs to be planned out right because if Serena finds out it was me who killed him, she will never forgive me.
