That was the day my life changed forever.
The Blood Brothers took me back to their clubhouse, where they showed me hospitality. They gave me a room and told me I could stay as long as I liked. Initially, I was concerned because they knew I was an FBI agent. I was worried they were going to do something that would ultimately cost me my life.
Just to be on the safe side, I texted Sam the clubhouse address letting him know I was there. He immediately replied with,I’ll sendbackup. So I had to call and convince him I was fine and that if he didn’t hear from me by tomorrow, he could send help. It took lots more convincing, but he finally let me hang up. I told him I wouldn’t be much longer and that we had gotten a lead on where Tate was located. Of course, it was a small lie, but at least now I had the Blood Brothers’ help.
The night was spent with Quill and Hawke making calls to other biker clubs they had connections with, and just before we had decided to give up for the night, a nomad by the name of Trick said he knew of a Tate and had met him at the Sinners clubhouse back in Vegas.
Vegas!
All this time, he was only four hours away from LA. Relief flooded me, and immediately I felt a great shift of despair lift off my shoulders. He was safe. For now anyway.
Quill got the contact details of the club’s president, Viper, who then got Tate on the phone with me. Initially, I asked him if he was okay and had been hurt in any way, but after he convinced me all was good and he apologized for not returning Mom’s or my calls, I let up a little. I decided that when I saw him in person, I would give him a good talking to, but not while I had the club listening in on our conversation. Tate gave me the address of the Sinners’ clubhouse, and he promised he wasn’t going to leave or head anywhere else, and he would be there when I made my way back.
I hung up and spent the night partying with the Blood Brothers.
Quill, the president, took a liking to me, and I had to admit, I took a liking to him too. He was easygoing, and I could see why he was liked by the bikers in his club. His men took his orders without hesitation. That was something to be admired. There was a girl named Jess, who was his woman. I even got the talking to about what the difference was between a woman and an ol’ lady. I had originally asked Quill if Jess was his girlfriend, and he literally spat the beer from his mouth at my statement. Jess, on the other hand, had a wide smile.
“Girlfriend?” he asked. “Nah, not girlfriend, just my fuck buddy.”
Jess playfully slapped his arm at his choice of words, and Quill slapped her ass showing her who’s boss.
Jess was beautiful and sexy, and I could see why he had a thing for her. But you could tell she was crazy about him, having eyes only for only him. She was his woman, and every man knew it. No other would dare look at her.
I’m forced to think about Sophia and how no other girl here could compare. Sophia is not only naturally beautiful, but she also doesn’t need all that makeup the women here are wearing. She’s sexy as hell and has a body on her that I craved through the night and still do.
My life is so fucked up right now, I just don’t know how I’m going to find the time to see her like I want to, and boy, do I want to. She was worried that what we had was a one-night stand. Originally, I thought so too, but spending that time with her made me crave her, and I didn’t know how I would be able to keep away.
“Where is your mind at, man?”
I look up into Quill’s piercing blue eyes, so blue that I feel like I’m staring into the ocean.
“What do you mean?”
“Who is she?”
I frown. “She who?”
“The girl who’s on your mind.” He smirks, and I smile, knowing he’s guessed correctly.
“What makes you think I’m thinking about a girl?”
Jess straightens, intrigued obviously by our choice of conversation.
“Because you have that look in your eye. Blurt it out. Who is she?”
I smile and rub my chin with my hand. “A girl I met in Vixen Falls.”
Quill lets out a laugh. “She’s got you by the balls, brother.”
“What? Hell, no, she doesn’t. I just met her yesterday.”
Quill’s eyebrows raise. “That’s it, one night, and she’s got you pussy whipped?”
Shaking my head, I disagree. “I’m not pussy whipped. She’s just… she’s just—”
