“And then?”

“Fuck, I don’t know… but I hope whatever happens we’ll be together. I hate missing you.”

“We’ll be together,” I said, and he grinned. “Whatever happens, Luka… I don’t ever doubt that.”

Luka held my hand as I pushed open the hotel room door. We were both dead on our feet after a long day of traveling, and then the rink and dinner with Reese. We’d left him with a promise to meet up for an early breakfast. He wanted to make sure he had enough time to take us around the city to do touristy things before his interview tomorrow. It was our only real chance to spend more time with him since he had to fly out for a road trip at six that same evening. But as selfish as it was, I would have loved to sleep in with my boyfriend instead. I wanted a day without a schedule. A day to be with Luka like we used to. To lie around and watch a movie and make out and enjoy each other. We hadn’t had much of an opportunity to be together without something looming over us, and even though he was right here in front of me, and we had this whole weekend, it didn’t feel like enough time.

Luka unhooked his watch and set it on the desk in the corner of the suite. The city lights spilling through the window danced across the angles of his face, and when he turned and found me watching him, he smiled.

“What?”

“I wish I could keep you all to myself this weekend,” I admitted as he sat on the edge of the king-size bed. “We haven’t had a lot of time together.”

“We have right now…”

“Are you tired?”

“I should be,” he said. “What about you?”

My exhaustion couldn’t compete with the buzzing under my skin. Luka’s eyes were hooded as I walked toward him, hazy with a look that I’d learned meant he wanted to kiss me.

I held his chin between my fingers, and he looked up at me. “No… not anymore.”

He rested his hands on my hips as I bent down to kiss him.

“You know what I want to do?” he asked.

“Hmm,” I hummed against his lips. “What?”

“I want to watch a movie on that ridiculous television in the bathroom while we take a bath.”

I laughed as I stood to my full height, and he grinned up at me. “What movie?”

“Shit… I have no idea. I don’t even care. As long as you’re naked and the water is hot, I’m happy.”

The idea sounded perfect to me, and once we were both settled in the tub, we’d picked a movie neither of us had seen, some new thriller he’d heard about from Nora. The bathroom was almost the size of the suite itself. The tub could have fit at least three people, and with the jets on, it was more like a jacuzzi than bathtub. The entire thing was surrounded by gaudy marble, but one wall was a full-length mirror with a television inside of it. I’d never seen anything like it. Luka was situated between my legs, his back to my chest, his hands running a slow circuit up and down my legs. The lights were dimmed, and with the low vibration of the jets, and citrus scent bubbling around us, I could almost fall asleep like this. Luka rested the back of his head on my shoulder, and I kissed his temple. I should’ve been paying attention to the movie, but I was too distracted. My fingertips skimmed across the smooth planes of his abs as I tracked the beads of condensation trickling down his neck, to his nipple.

“I can hear you thinking,” he said.

“This is nice.”

“I feel like we’re in my room back home, like all those times we’d watch movies and I’d pass out in your lap. Except… we’re naked.”

“And I want to kiss you.”

He turned his head and smiled. “Back then I always wanted to kiss you.”

“Sometimes I think you should have.”

“I don’t know… You weren’t ready.”

He was right. But looking back at my life, at all the little things, all those moments we had between us, it was obvious to me now.

“I’m ready now, though.”

Luka sat up and I spread my legs as he turned to face me. On his knees, he slowly leaned forward, his eyes on my mouth. The intensity of his blue eyes, the way the silence charged around us, there was nothing but his mouth, and his skin, and the warm touch of his hands. One breath, and then another, and finally his lips were on mine. I groaned as his tongue pushed into my mouth, unsure of who grabbed who first as we became a tangle of arms and legs. The water around us slapped the sides of the marble, splashing onto the floor as he straddled me with strong thighs. His stubble chafed my skin, his teeth marking me as I claimed him with mine. My hands traced the curve of his spine, and I was a thousand dandelion seeds drifting away in the summer heat of his skin. I ached for his touch, my cock filling for him, throbbing as we rutted together. Everything was slippery, falling away too fast, and I held on to his hips, held him as he whispered against my mouth between kisses how much he needed me, wanted me.
