Page 326 of Bad for Me

I crack my neck and crawl with purpose toward the door. It’s stupid to think you are getting out of here unless they want you to leave.

Hell, I’ve tried on multiple occasions and have ended up in solitary every fucking time.

The box they had me in this time measured five by five. Yeah, I was on my ass the entire time, and if I moved to stand up, I’d end up hitting myself in the head.

God, how long has it been since I’ve seen daylight?

“You got a visitor.”

There’s only one person who can pull strings to get me out of punishment. My brother Fred. As the door opens, I crawl out with a big ass grin on my face. Standing up, I stretch the best I can and groan.

Goddamn, that feels fantastic.

“Come on.” The guard growls at me and yanks on the chains on my hands. I stumble, but I catch myself. If I fell, he’d just drag my ass down the hallways.

We make our way back to civilization, and some buddies that are in the yard chant my name. I’ve made quite the name for myself in here, and no one fucks with me. Not even the newbies try to start shit anymore. They know better.

“Where the fuck…” My brother’s voice trails toward me as the guard opens the door and pushes me inside.

“Ten minutes, commissioner.” The security watchman in the visiting area reminds us, and my brother comes over to me. He jerks away and holds his nose.

“Damn, when’s the last time you had a shower?”

“What day is it?”

He looks at me like I’ve lost my marbles, and maybe I have, but fuck, I just got out of solitude.

“It’s Friday, December 12th.”

“Damn. I’ve been down in the hole since the first. That’s the longest stint I’ve done in a while.”

Chuckling, I sit down in front of my brother, and he straightens his tie. “Listen, I got a mission for you.”

“Um, kind of incarcerated here.” I know I’m stating the obvious, but my brother seems oblivious.

“Not anymore. Come on.” He motions for me to follow him, and my brows come together in confusion.

“Now, dammit.” Another guard comes into the room, and the lights go out.

Alarms blare, and my brother takes my chains and drags me along.

Holy fuck, is he breaking me out?

That would be a first. Not that I’m complaining.

We get to the visitor entrance, and not a single guard is around. The entire place is in chaos as we make our way out of the building.

Fred hands two men a roll of hundreds each. Wow, it’s nice to know he can just throw money away like it’s nothing. “You never saw us.”

They both agree as they open the gate, and we slide into his car. “Hurry, sir, the power will be on soon.” The driver says as he takes off before I’ve even shut the door.

“Take us to the Belmont, Jeffers.”

“Yes, sir.” The old man takes a hard right, and I slide along the seat.

“Give me your hands,” Fred demands, and I nod. My brother just did me a solid. I’m pretty sure, though, that he only got me out so I could do this mission, and he will turn me in if I don’t complete it.

The cuffs come off, and I breathe a little easier. “What’s the mission, Fred?”
