I gasp, shooting up from the couch. “Benny,” I scream when Alessio throws another punch at Ozzy.
Benny steps forward, and he and Callum pry the men apart.
“Fuck you, Ferrera,” Ozzy shouts as he wipes blood from his lip.
“No,” Alessio snarls. “Fuck you for hurting your sister, you stupid fuck.” He struggles against Benito, who is holding him back. “If you ever come near her again. I. Will. Kill. You.”
The next few moments were a blur. Benny and Callum held Alessio and Ozzy back from killing each other as we hurried the fuck out of there. There was too much commotion for me to understand exactly what had happened, but it seemed like Callum wasn’t going to retaliate for Alessio punching my brother.
Adrenaline pumps through my veins as we leave my childhood home. Benny walks ahead of us down the driveway and toward the car. And Alessio tucks me into his side as he all but drags me in order to keep up with his fast pace.
Benny opens the back door and Alessio guides me into the car before sliding in beside me. The car is silent as we drive away, and I glance back, taking one last look at the home I grew up in. His hand presses against my back. His lips press against the back of my ear.
“I’m sorry that I lost my temper,” he murmurs.
I shiver against his touch. “Don’t be.”
“No?” he asks.
“We were going to expose him in there. Tell Callum the truth. That’s what you wanted. But it’s not what I wanted.” I turn away from the house to peer up at Alessio. I force a smile while my heart pounds harder in my chest. “And all I did was ask you to take me home. You listened.”
He cups my cheek. “That is your home, Hadley. You deserve to have it. Not Ozzy. Not for the way he treated you.”
“My home is with you, Alessio,” I say.
He grins, and my heart swells at how handsome he is. I trace his smile with my thumb and then I kiss the fuck out of him. I’ve wanted to be in his arms for too long, and now that I have him, I don’t want to let go. I don’t care how wrong we are together, how bad he is for me.
I’m not letting go. Never, ever.
